View Full Version : Are Noir supernatural?
Here's the question. Is there any truth to the ritual of Noir? Does it somehow infuse two girls with the Powers of Holy/Sinful Vengeance, so to speak? (Or at least, metaphysical strength.)
We've seen Kirika and Chloe do some freaky things. By the rules of the _normal_ universe, you should not be able to get around after getting shot in the stomache as much as Kirika has, machine gun recoil should of knocked a 90 pound soaking wet girl halfway to Schnectady, and she's capable of super-monkey jumping to incredible heights.
But by _anime_ rules? Not so much a stretch. Look at Ranma, Kenshin, etc. Is Noir using "realistic" rules, meaning Kirika's something superhuman, or is it just the result of mind-defying training?
Does the Noir ritual simply result in ending up with 2 girls who survive the process, thus being tough, or does it actually imbue them with mystical power?
Well, as Noir was the title for two ultimate assasins who never fail and always carry out their mission, then that means that they have to eliminate their target even if it requires extreme agility and skill, so yeah, I guess their skills were somewhat supernatural, at least Kirika's and Chloe's

The name, Noir consists of two maidens one is born from the original sin and the other fights for love (if my memory served me correct :heh: ). It doesn't have some weird mojo magic happening around but pretty much two women who have a strong will to fight and protect the innocent.
I hope this solves much from what I remembered after watching Noir. I'll fill in more of my opinions later on.
I really doubt it was their own actual will to protect the innocent, in some cases, it was more like avenging the innocent or simply "carring the sins of the world", that is, taking on the inevitable "dirtywork" and sins that have to be commited in the cource of human events. To explain further I'd have to resort to spoilage, so I will not do that, after all, its more fun to watch the series and then make your own conclusions after that :D

I'm going with the result of mind-defying training. They didn't do the Noir ritual until after several amazing feats. We never saw any real holy-light shine down on any of the Noir ladies.
By anime rules Noir is pretty realistic, isn't it.

After all, flying is as simple as falling and missing the ground.

Kirika and Chloe are trained by the same person.. Althena... spelling..:/
Althena is one freaky lady... Just look how tall she is!
I think both Kirika and Chloe were training when very young and were taught to kill!

............... yes exactly.... trained from birth.. you can't really say it's beyond reality unless you've met someone trained from birth to do such things.... unless you compare it to your own abilities... besides look at Jackie Chan he's done some totally outrageous things... so whats have they done that's so impossible ?... of course compared to our abilities of course it's impossible.. we've never been trained for anything that physically demanding since birth...
