Ok, let me start out by saying that I have only watched a bit of the dubbed version at a friends house and have not watched all of Burn Up W.

The characters name is Nanvel, but the japanese have no concept of the letters or sounds 'L' and 'V'in their language. Instead they replace the L's with R's and the V's with B's. eg. 'Video' is pronounced Bideo.

If this is true than how is the name 'Nanvel' pronounce in Japanese?

'Nanberu' maybe???

In the japanese version of Burn up X her name was pronounced as Nanvel, so the answer is B. :p

I believe it's Nambel.

But the translations of the japanese web pages give it as Nunbell.

Just for the record, a quick search of japanese web pages would suggest that Nanvel's name is actually....

ナンベル

That's katakana for : 'Na' 'n' 'be' 'ru'
(depending on the way you romanize your katakana)

Nanvel, Nanberu, Nambel

- all amount to pretty much the same thing with japanese pronunciation.

Urk!

... of course the katakana above won't display too well unless you switch the page encoding to Shift-JIS...

すみません :)
