Yu Yu Hakusho is pretty cool

Thanks to Adult Swim, I am watching it for the first time and I must say that I like it very much. Some people have bashed it because it's like Dragonball Z. Even though I do see similarities, I still like it. It's as if Yu Yu improves or takes a different spin on a DBZ idea sometimes.Even their original stuff is cool too.

This is my first time in this forum and I just wanted to praise the show. Thanks for reading.

yea, tell me about it. i see a lot of yu yu bashers at the toonzone adult swim forums. the thing is, it does get dbz later on, as in fights take up more than one episode (i cant remember how long the yusuke-toguro fight was though, all i know is, its long). another dbz similarity you'll get to see later on is...do you know how in dbz, when a character gets smashed into a small rock mountain, it breaks (or something like that)? same thing happens to Yu Yu. well anyway, yu Yu is a great show. i equally like it as dbz though.

Toguro is about 3-5 eps. It is alot like DBZ, but it doesn't take 20 eps to finish a fight(Frieza VS Goku, anyone?).

You'll find the story line is also far more immense and you have gotta love Kuwabara

i like yu yu but dont knock DBZ that way, it doesnt have the best storyline but its still a good anime (to me), i personally dont like the charaters from yu yu heaps only kurama and hiei are cool, oh and botan :kawaii:

The DBZ simularities are what 1st got me into YYH... after awhile I finally started appreciating it for what is original about it. :D

I saw the movie a looong time ago, and it was great! the animation was amazing, the story was great, the characters looked good too. and then I saw the series on adult swim and Im very disapointed with it. the animation is ten times worse than the movie, they cant even make the characters look the same (I mean like in one scene yusuke face looks totally different than the next, ya know?) its still an ok show, but I think they could have done a better job.

Gyah...the problem is, the animation in anime movies is always better than the series. You have to accept that animation too. But I still love YYH...It's just awesome...

I think YYH is a bit similar to DBZ (otherwise CN probably wouldn't show it)

Well, I guess I can agree with that a little bit. That probably wouldn't be the reason that CN shows it, though cuz its on Adult Swim. There's different anime on AS such as Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop.
I do love watching Yuyu Hakasho, I watch it every Saturday!!!:D
