View Full Version : Excel Saga
Hum. My sister bought it, and now.. I'm scared. It's great though. It's all my kinda humor.
Has anyone else seen it? Care to talk about it?

It gets even more insane. It is my second favourite anime, and it beats out CB and 3Gun. Yeah, it's that great. And note that it's not a girly anime, if that's what you're thinking. It's more guy style, and ep 26 is just lewd adult humor.

not to mention its sequel/side story Puni Puni Poemi which I love to death

Just got Excel Saga and I must say....
It is truly a funny show. My fav character being IIpalazzo! It was so funny how he was getting so into the dating sim. He really wanted to save the girl dispite him being the dictator that he is, it was SOOO FUNNY!!!
Alas, feel sorry for poor Pedro! His wife left him for another man and his son forgot him.......he is the tragic figure...
And last we come to my Hero....Afro man!! (I forget his name) He is super funny and his english VA is Brett Weaver who is one of my fave english VAs ( He was the voice for Carrot in Sorcerer Hunter and Damaramu in Dragon Half!!) Afro Man's master is cool too....the legendary Space Butler!!
HAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Overall this was a hilarious anime. I'm definately picking up the rest of it as ADV films releases it ^_^

Dub DUB?!!
Well, I haven't heard the dub, but know me, for I am the head slave driver for Excel, on AB.
And afro-dude is Nabeshin, Japanese VA is the director himself. Notable other works: Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop...
Funny thing is that Shinichi Watanabe looks exactly like himself in real life. He really does wear a red coat and blue jeans.. ;p

^.^ This is a funny series. I've seen..One ep so far. XD Lurve the dog and the ending song.
Excel is so damn funny!
Nabeshin - singing (dub): I'm Nabeshin, my afro suits me, all the chicks love the afro....
or something like that.
It's a good thing he's in every episode, cause he's the greatest afro hero around (not exactly many of those around to contend with, but none the less....) ;)
If you like Excel, you have to see Puni Puni Poemi. ADV have recently licensed it, but it'll be a while before we see the DVD.
The 2 main characters are like mini versions of the Excel Girls, only far more nuts! And the Hyatt lookalike character using Poemi's head to rest her enormous boobs on, Classic!!!
Have a look see here : http://www.excel-saga.com/poemi/index.html
Poemi's only 2 episodes long right? I didn't know how long it was when I saw the first episode and then I found out it's supposed to be only 2 episodes long :( Say it ain't so!!!

Beware. Puni Puni Poemi is very hentai. It contains some nudity. It is really preverted humor. It is fsking amazing.

I've watched a few eps and it's freakin hilarious. I love all the parodies they do in this anime. The Puchu Martians are great! I love how ugly they look when Excel kicks them around.

Actually they are different directors, different people.
Shinichi Watanabe has worked on Excel Saga, Pretty Sammy and is now working on Tenchi Galaxy Police.
The other Watanabe is the one who worked on Macross Plus and Cowboy Bebop. I wonder what hes working on now.

as westlo said, thats two different directors. Excel Saga's director is Shinichi Watanabe while bebop's director is shinichiro watanabe. IMO, Nabeshin isnt as brilliant as shinichiro

actually, to be more specific, it should be Japanese names 101.
most oriental countries go with first name first.
