Excel Saga- What is it?

A friend of mine who's the author of "Self-Insert" just wrote a comic about the opening of "Excel Saga." He included a link to the open mpeg, so I went and watched it. Well, half of it anyway. The net kicked me off befoe it finished loading.

So anyway, It looks funny and.... weird. What's it about?

It's about a girl madly in love with this guy who hates her and the guy want to conquer the world. There is also another girl that dies every 5 seconds. There is this god that...

It's too funny for words. I highly recommend buying it. It's my 2nd favourite anime, and it beats trigun, bebop, esca...for me.

It's that good, huh? I'll have to watch it, then. Is it available locally or only through fansub?

I'm guessing Excel's the brown haired girl, and the guy she's in love with that wants to conquer the world is the one with glasses. As for the girl who dies every five minutes, that must be the black haired one with the cloak, right?

Anyways, the first dvd is out, and they say it's the best dvd ADV has ever produced.

While I might put this on a list of anime I wouldn't mind as a gift (i.e., someone else pays for it), I don't plan on buying it myself. There's weird, slapstick, and there's just plain stupid. I think E.S. is in the final category... (as is Puni Puni Poemi, by the same people)

What's with Hyatt, anyway? She got tuberculosis or something?

Well she has anemia, which explains why she's so pale and why she faints regularly. The ironic thing is that she can bleed rivers of blood. :p :lol:

So let me get this straight.... The show is basically an invader Zim scenario, with Excel being Zim and Illpalazzo being the Tallest, except that there's a whole slew of stuff thrown in to make it into a totally nonsensicle, parody-strewn laugh riot?

And here I thought Illpalazo was a serious character with freaky powers... I still like his design, though. It's like Kagato merges with Magic Emperor Ghaleon, or something...
