How many Macrosses ARE there??

The last one I remember was Macross 7, but were there anymore? After all the threats (ie Zentradis) have been neutralized, would they still have reasons for making colony ships? This is assuming all these series are in the same timeline (and not like that Gundam Alternate Universe crap). They obviously don't make a series for every Macross fleet.

There's the origonal Macross. 36 eps.

Then there's a movie: Macross - Do You Remember Love which is basically the origonal Macross compressed.

Then there's Macross 2 which sucks and was not done by the dude that made the rest of the macross. It's considered to be "alternate universe."

Then there's Macross Plus wich is the best one. 4 part OVA version and movie version. Just go get it. Only Eddy was dissappointed, but Eddy is weird.

Macross 7 sucks.

Well, Macross 7 is more closely associated to the original series in terms of plot and themes. Thus if music and love conquering all is not your type of plot, you probably wouldn't like it. Macross Plus was a refreshing difference to the whole Macross enterprise, so there's a varying in fan base between the original, the Macross Plus fans and Macross 7.

Now I'm just waiting for the new Macross 0 OVA :o

Everything is in the same timeline except Macross II. As previously mentioned, it wasn't done by Studeo Nue and thus isn't "official". The DYRL movie is considered to be a movie in the Macross timeline, made during Macross 7's time.
