Hi folks.
I'm talking about an idea for a project with a mate of mine. We're both pretty clueless about XML, databases and such, but I've had a little experience through things like 3rd party web forums etc.
Anyway, our idea is to set up an information database of anime, that we can create and maintain, and allow our site to draw from and use on the pages. Idealy the database creation and data entry would be done via a simple web interface. We would put some standard code the web pages to draw the latest info from the database within a design/style.
In the future, we could become more sophistocated, and allow others to submit reviews and links, and allow visitors to pick and choose what tables of the database they want to see on the site (eg, title and blurb, but not reviews or run time).
Are there any existing applications (preferably open source/free) that would help us implement this vision? Remember that we're not completely clueless, but with limited experience.
Your thoughts are much appreciated!!
Thanks,
Neil
