No. I think the series was wrapped up pretty nicely. What if they made a cheesy thing where someone just as powerful as Lain appeared. It would be awful.

Welcome to Animeboards, Leathelanime. :wavey:

What parts of the plot would you like to see expanded to form a movie?

In general, I would have to say I can't see the series translating well into a movie, but but perhaps a movie about K.I.D.s and the evolution of the wired prior to the time of Lain. However, the series were really complex, which makes any sort of addition to the story difficult.

I personally don't think there needs to be a movie. Especially not an expansion of the story. I think I was told perfectly well in the series and if anything else was made it would lose it's mystique and charm.

A retelling of the story as a Live Action Movie (as in real people) could be interesting... plus that seems to be a big thing right now - movie adaptations of comics/manga/video games, that is.

Lain would almost be certainly ruined if it was a live action movie, as personally, I think they lack a certain depth to them, a feeling which only anime/manga have. That is why I have become a fan. Keep Lain as an anime and don't make a joke out of it in a style like the spiderman movie (which I did not like very much).

I think FOX did Marvel Comics' X-Men justice, I wouldn't be too opposed to seeing them trying to do the same with Lain...

It couldn't be worse than "Dragonball: The magic begins"! hahaha

Lain is Lain, nothing more is needed. I wouldn't like to see anything more.

As for for Spierman and X-Men, I thought they were both sweet (though X-Men was better). Can't wait for X-Men 2.

I think Lain does need an OVA or a movie to help explain some of the things that are stil such a mystery...
Lain the series had us asking so many questions without giveing us many answers... (its the only thing that disapointed me... the series would get much higher mark if this wasnt so...)

I dont understand how poeple can say it was wraped up (pritty) nicely...

Yeah, Lain is over. It was a good series while it lasted but there's no need for a movie.... unless the movie is about something like Lain getting infected with a virus or something stupid like that..... Either way there should still be no Lain movie.

Why not simply do a Lain movie based on the PS version, the lesser-known and far different story? It's not possible to say much bad about the game if you haven't played it (although I haven't either) but it would probably make for a simpler story to bring to the big screen or something such as, from what I gather, it is slightly less fantastic than the anime version (as in less of a "magical/technological" story).

I find most anime doesnt really need to be made into a movie, and would probably only be hurt by doing so.

For instance, I'm not exactly a-twitter about the NGE movie they are planning...
