Anyone Pick up the Hellsing DvD

I did and I think the work is very solid.they did everything I hoped for and gave Integral,Walter,Seras and mostly all the other characters British and Irish Accents!And realy impacts on the series to me :D Alucard is played Crispin Freeman well known for his work on slayers,boogiepop phantom,Rurouni Kenshin and many others.Alexander sounds like a Irish madman outcLASSING THE ORIGINAL hellsing japanese cast.Cuz of the accents make the series more realistic :)I reccomend this for people who are looking for a great dub and for people that just wanna see a good anime.

i saw it today, but i already pre-ordered it (w/ the box with blood pouch), i bought Escaflowne the movie ultimate edition instead :D

Yes the accents deffinatley add alot of reason to watch the dub. I'm supprised it was only a 16+ with how many times they say F**k in it.

And i thought they canceled the blood bag promotion..... There was something on rightstuf about it.

The dub really lacks the callous, refined dignity that makes the original so chilling.

And dammit, whereas the original Seras was insecure yet cute and strong, the dub is comparatively a whiny damsel in distress. :(

But Ronin do you forget at the begining of the aNIMe Seras is realy Whiny and whimpy even in the original....She gets harder tho deeper in the series and so she will in the dub

Whatever the case, it is still one hell of an entertaining experience to watch Hellsing in CRYSTAL CLEAR REMASTERED DIGITAL IMAGES and CRYSTAL CLEAR DOLBY 5.1 STEREO SOUND rather than faded analogy vinyl tape. :kawaii:

I got 2 of the 4 DVD's released in Australia and I have to say the characters english voices are bloody brilliant. Unlike the Excel Saga dubs.... *shudder*

I have a question for whoever allready has it. I've read somewhere that in the translation, they changed Alucards name to Arucard. It this true of the DVD release?

In the dub of my region 1 DVDs(1-3) they say Alucard, however on the backs of the DVDs it's spelled Arucard. Go figure.

Hellsing in Dub :eek:, I really try to avoid all dub of anime if I can. Only a few like Cowboy BeBop or Outlaw Star manage to sound right with english voice actors ( I believe they used some of the same voice actors).

I got 3 hellsing dvds for xmas XD So far it's going pretty good, except sometimes I think the british accents are gonna drive me crazy...

Yeah it's strang how the say "Alucard" but it says "Arucard" in the subtitles and everywhere else... :confused:

my friend told me that it was because there wasn't al "L" pronunciation in the japanese language. He's japanese, so I guess he knows what he's talking about...

Dang. I missed out on the bloodpack, but I did get the box. I'm hoping to get the DVD 3 with figure and maybe the 4th with the figure as well. It's a bloody good varient. Hope my comic shop eventually gets the one they ordered for me.

I got Vol 4 with figure in the mail today. The variant Seras has yellow hair as opposed to the orange of the normal figure, and her irises are also smaller.

I picked up the third DVD yesterday and really enjoyed it. I really like the dub voices. It would've been a disater if they tried to use American voices.

alexander is more a stereotypical scotsman in the mangas,i would know,i live there :P
