It was ok. There are a lot better films out there. This is the worst Miysaki film I've seen.

I have to say 10, given that I saw it 6 times in the cinemas and therefore probably paid twice the price of a DVD :heh:

I'd rate it a 5. The storyline was a bit slow in the beggining and I didn't like it when heads were chopped off and stuff. The tree people were a bit scary. I'm very picky! :p

Edit: I'll make the Dub a 5, while the sub is a 7.

For a Ghibli film... I rate it a 7 or a 8... definitely nice and all, but not the absolute best i've seen. :)

The animation was sugoi.

The plot was a bit preachy. Nausicaa had a better plot, but still was eco friendly.

It was eco friendly in the sense that it promoted better treatment of the environment through watching it being destroyed.
It was sort of a theme of the movie.


Anyways, I'd give it a high 8
If asked a year ago, I would have said 9, but I guess absence does not make my heart grow fonder. :)

Princess Mononoke is probably my favorite movie ever (not just Anime)....

Of course I'll give it 10 (out of 10)

I'd rate it 10! This movie has great animation, lots of blood, and those cute little spirits that turn there heads all around...lol....^^

I'd rate it 8. The animation was pretty good. And i liked the way it touched on a few issues on human & the environment. :thumbup: But where romance was concerned... i was kinda disappointed with how it ended...

I give the dub version a 9, and the sub version a 10. It's my favorite anime movie *ever*! San and Moro kick bum! I would rather the movie end with Ashitaka and San together, but I suppose it's for the best that they stayed seperated.
The ending would have dropped the sub score down to a 9, but I got one word for ya: KODAMA!!! They're the forest spirits, if ya don't know... :D I love the liddle buggers to pieces! :kawaii:

Id give Princess Mononoke about a 7 to an 8. Its a good watch but some how I didnt feel very satisfied with the ending but eh thats just me.

Probably a 9. Mononoke hime was a good moive, but I personally like Spirited Away better. Anyway, Mononoke was a little too violent for me and the theme was kinda of boring. The Dub was horrible, however.

7.5 It was pretty average in my view, but if I had to lean a little bit because of the good imagry I'd give it an 8. The story was alright, the characters the same, the artwork was fabulous, the music more than just fine, and the rewatchability is pretty high because I know I'll be watching it quite a few more times before I die. :lol:

It is a solid anime movie. It has a good story that isn't difficult to grasp, it has excellent animation, the sound is great, the lead character is a study in heroism, and the themes are clear and yet open for discussion. And it's probably one of the best movies to show to an anime newcomer. I rate it an 8.

Unless you have parents like mine, and you're trying to show it to them. "What's going on?" "What are those little wobbly-headed things?" "Why are the animals talking?" :dodgy: I still don't think they even caught the whole point of the movie. But what do you expect of people with attention spans that rival a two-year-old's... *sigh*

Anyway, I'd give Mononoke Hime a 9. Excellent story with complex characters, beautiful artwork and music, some of the best and most fluid animation you'll see.... It's one of the best anime movies I've seen so far.

Ive only seen the dub and I thought the dub was great I dont think it was bad. But thats just my own opinion.

Yeah same here. It wasn't that bad of a dub. I really liked the movie too. I'll give it a 9 also because I loved the music and the story.

I'd give it close up there to a 10...The dub was better than most I've seen, and the sub was...A sub...I thought the music that went along with it was good, and thought the chraracter development was better...Enough wih my reasons, it's a great movie...
