I noticed that there are a lot of issues brought up through the series.
I mean issues that most of us have or had in our lives.

There is the obvious love issue...

There's the issue of not belonging. InuYasha isn't a Youkai nor a Human so he is not accepted on both sides (there's also the example of Jinenji which actually comes to help us understand how InuYasha was feeling IMHO)...

There's the issue of not accepting who you are and thus trying to change yourself (InuYasha trying to become a full Youkai...).

There's also the issue of people and their lust for power (Sesshoumaru and Naraku for example...).

What do you think?
Any other issues you can think of?
Anything else?...

mmm....issues...
there's a certain jealousy theme in the series when Inuyasha gets jealous when wolf-man Kouga gets praise from Kagome.

also there's a bit about paper tantrums between friends when Kagome (on more than one occasion too!) gets angry at Inuyasha, and they patch things up again when Kagome realises how much Inuyasha worries about her.

there's also the theme of trust and loyalty, like whren Miroku (can't remember the episode, around ep. 40) was trapped from all the youkai and Inuyasha+friends came to rescue him despite Miroku not telling them where he was.

another thing which could come under 'not accepting who you are' as Ah Sayuni said, is the burden of having to live with a difficult childhood/past-like Sango's town (very emotional that was) was destroyed and Miroku was cursed...
