OMG!! :bawling: How could those evil creators plan such a thing!! Poor Griffith. He's such a cool character too! Poor Guts... poor everyone.

I've been moping around all day since I heard that, and I've only seen the first two volumes... strange that I feel so bad about how it turns out, when I barely even know the characters... The only other time I've felt this depressed about an anime was when I saw the end of Cowboy Bebop...

Did any of you guys feel like that after watching the end of Berserk? (if you've seen the end, that is; I tried to keep this post spoiler-free for those lucky people who have no clue how it all goes)

On a side note, I plan to KILL the "friend" who so kindly blurted out how the series turns out... :redhot: :smash: :dead:

Then again that's why there's going to be a second series, I think. But yes, I did feel the same. Maybe even worse. Basically everyone feels that way that's why everyone likes Berserk (Not that I'm speaking for everyone mind you, just voicing some observations *whistles*). It's like a rollercoaster ^_^.

First off let me say how much that sucks that the ending was spoiled for you. It came as a complete surprise to me, and i was left in a cold sweat, contemplating throwing my head through a window heh.
It was a... powerful ending to say the least. But in response to: Originally posted by dheu
Poor Griffith.

*grin* just finish watching the series. Griffith, Caska, and Gatts are three of the most complex anime characters ive seen, and the way you feel about them kind of shifts at different times throughout. Its pretty intense.

I haven't seen the last 4 or so eps, but have read the manga. Does the Skull Knight guy appear at all in the anime?

He's portrayed more so as an angel the he is a demon in the subsequent arc. It's quite interesting...he's either seen with leathery black wings, or feathery white ones.

SPOILER WARNING of Berserk volumes 21-23!!

Uhmmmm.... I'm not sure how far you've read, but judging from what happens later it was definitely a good thing for Griffith. He's reborn as a ''normal'' human being again, so....seems like a good thing for him, no?

yes everything is good for him now hes about to achieve his dream but hes not human dont forget that I think he still has al his godhand power and that he can transform like zodd. But we'll have to wait and see.

Ok then, I didn't know all of that. I've only seen the animes up to 22 and spoiled the rest (partially seeing them, reading the forums and post-anime mangas). Thought he remained as Femto n'stuff.

How does Gatts come out of that "Dream/Hell" world? The Anime Series justs ends with Gatts losing his arm and eye and Griffith becoming that demi god/devil and raping Casca? In the first episode you see Gatts as he is after the end but how does he end up there? I think it's a litle frustrating just being cut of like that? anyway pease post yout thoughts or if you read tha Manga pleas explain what happends between that of Gatts losing his arm and the fight with the serpent in episode 1 ;)

Well, basically a knight in huge, honking skeletonish looking armor rides in, tries to kill Void (the brain dude), picks up Gatsu & Caska and rides away. He arrived there through some portal place that Zodd was guarding, but he promptly kicked his ass (or fought evenly anyway...) and went in. It doesn't say it in the anime, but Rickert also survived by err... going out to the forest for a leak while the monsters attacked IIRC. The three surviving Hawks then go to Godo's mine to recover, where Gatsu is re-equiped and leaves for vengeance.

That's the short version, I recommend you check the link in my second last post on the "Spoilers please" thread for some scans (think of them as teasers to make you get the manga instead of illegal stuff :p ).

The first episode is quite different in the manga.
After he recovers from his wounds Gatts goes on a quest to wipe out all of the godhands and their servants Gatts must have heard that the baron was an evil being and suspected him of being an appostle.
