why are the pilots of the TAs hooked in directly into the the TAs, and need injections and so such?

i thought the computers and back up computers calculated balance and such from the TA itself and the support vehical.
(i am going by the glasses wearing brother of the Gowa clan)

so why the injections?

The TAs are based on the kugais. The kugais are an organic entity, hence why the TAs seem to have strange organic muscles. In fact they explain that the TAs use what they call "an artificial muscle system, which is what allows effective bipedal movement, because it isn't a robot, it's organic.

Anyhow, now to your actual question. The pilots need injections because the TAs function through the pilot. For example, you may recall that the TA system was remarked as an AI system that learnt through experience, and could even precipitate the pilot's reactions depending on how good the pilot was with the TA. Because the TAs act and react to the pilots in this way, compound injections are used to alter and adjust the pilot's physical and mental condition, like if they go into a panic attack or seizure or something. Piloting the TAs is very hard, and both physically and mentally exhausting. They emphasise this many times. It takes a great deal to be able to cope with the stress of piloting them, and the injections are needed in order to keep the pilots stabilised.

Hope that helped.
