i was just looking into this, and it seems to be well worth the buy. i'm certainly a large fan of Yoko Kanno, and definitely love her work on the plenty already released OSTs. in fact, i've yet to find any of her work that i dislike.
apparently, according to animenation.com:
Three of the CDs include close to 50 tracks including 20 previously unreleased pieces and snippets of dialogue taken from the animation. All three studio albums are produced by Cowboy Bebop animation director Shinichiro Watanabe himself. The fourth CD is a live recording of Yoko Kanno and her band Seatbelts performing at the "Seatbelts Live 2001 - Earth Girls are Easy - Saigo no Weekend," including live versions of Cowboy Bebop music numbers not available on any other CDs. The final disc is a 3" single with a song performed by Ein the dog, with a karaoke version too so you can sing along! The entire set comes in a handsome box with a 52 page color booklet.
i'm rather big on rare collector's things like awsome boxart, booklets of information, and the such. or moreso, i'm interested in the Seatbelts Live disc. but none the less, it seems worth it to me... but i'm writing in question of whether anyone else has any opinions on how good this boxset may be. or if no one's heard it... thoughts?

The only reason I'd hesitate is that I've got OST1, Blue, and the 2-disc movie OST. I wouldn't want to spend a bunch ($130) of money on what would amount to many duplicates of songs I've already got. Thanks for the info, heart havok. 20 out of 50 isn't that bad...

US$130 is a sh*tload of moolah for a boxset of CD's..., not totally sure I'd buy it at that price..., though *looks at link* I think the Cowboy Bebop Zippo lighter is very cool..., :D
But saying that..., if it was a LE CD boxset of a show that I'd loved (not Evangelion though.., I love the show, but most of the music is blah)..., I'd probably buy it..., :heh: So if you like the music that much heart havok, I say go for it..., rare collector's items are very nice to have..., :)

well i'm probably moreso a fan of Yoko Kanno than the series itself. {don't get me wrong, BeBop is certainly in my top favourites list}
what makes it most interesting for me is that live SEATBELTS CD and the LE Box itself.

Yoko Kanno is fantastic, and her CB music, personally, is the best of her works that I've heard, but this is slightly out of my league... ^^; I can't find it at the Cartoon Gallery, but it'll probably retail over here for about $300.
Since I only have the first OST, if I had the money, I'd snap it up in an instant. Ah, well.

Just a few days ago I saw this set at my local anime shop and wondered about it. Sounds like an awesome set, but conseidering I have all but the remixe CD, I don't want to spend so much on a CD of music most of which I already have. If the price was significantly lower, however, it'd be another story. It is nice, though....
