Been waiting for this title since last February when I read about it at GIA. It's gotten good reviews and the US version has some extras.

Well i picked this baby up yesterday and ITS THE BEST DAMN RPG IVE PLAYED IN YEARS!! I played it for 12 hours straight after popping it in for the first time. Its just has such a fun battle system and the story is actually interesting. The best part is that seeing all the Disney characters, which I thought would make the game kinda wierd, are the best part of the game!! My favorite moment so far was opening a book Merlin gave me and seeing the Hundred acre wood map. THen I got to go talk to Winnine the Pooh and the old themes song form the cartoon was playing. HAHA!! This game is GREAT!!! I highly recommend this game to everyone!! GO BUY IT NOW!!

KH is a pretty good game, but doesn't have a very high 'can't stop playing' factor. The game relies heavily on the nostalgia factor of seeing 'old' disney and FF characters and running around in their environments.

Nostalgia is important, since the gameplay isn't all that great. The fighting sequences are a drag. You see the same enemies over and over and then you do the same combo to beat them over and over. The heartless are the most boring enemies ever, although the bosses do try to make up for it.

The 'adventure' gameplay (when you're not dragging yourself through the neverending heartless) is not fun at all. Exploring doesn't really exist, it's more of a find the out-of-the-way treasure chest. The worlds are puny and really don't take long to be treasure hunted through anyhow. The game engine/gameplay is sort of like a poor man's zelda, with an extremely sluggish camera.

The gummi ship sequences are ridiculously poor. Not sure what the point of it was, other than to annoy and look first gen playstation 1 side game (it looks worse than star fox on the SNES, and plays MUCH worse). The question of "Why did they do this crap?" Will play through your mind each time you do this 'game'.

The eye candy is, of course, square quality, and the overall presentation of the game is real nice. Think of it as a Merc SL500 with a 1.5 Liter 80 horse engine. It's not like we're going to get a real Final Fantasy game any time soon, so might as well pick it up. At least It'll waste a few hours.

I like the story.. and the characters.. but there are quite a few downsides.

I agree that the world's are too small.. there are few enemies (repetitive).. and the attacks are repetitive (same combo..) also it takes too long to level.. (my game has like 20 hours.. i'm like level 25 or something).

I dislike how the AI of Goofy/Donald (and other NPC) like how they don't move and go and get the HP-orbs themselves.. and I take them for no reason.

Umm.. It's fun seeing characters again. Speech isn't that great.. I like the voices.. but the actual talking sequenches is not good.

I dislike the Gummi Ship.. how you have to find items to enhance it and having to drive to different worlds.

There few weapons/accesories in the game. And few items.

My first thought on Synthesizing was "It's gonna be like FFX" but no.. it just makes new items.

I do think the game is fun and good but there are too many downsides.

(I wish it was longer.. i'm like 1/3 done)

Well if your playing the game you probably know by now but they are trinity symbols. Once you learn a specific color you can do a trinity ability at the mark with Donald and Goofy. This usually gets you a chest or something. Oh and you have to do it with Goofy and Donald you cant do it with any of the other characters in your party. Which sucks because I missed one cuz I didnt have Goofy with me and now I cant go back. GRRRRRRRR!

It was a blue trinity mark in Boogie's mansion but since the mansion blows up after you beat boogie I couldnt go back.

And I cant seem to damage Sephi much less touch him...I am only at lvl 60 right now since Ive been playing Armored Core more than anythin lately.

That's bad about missing the trinity mark. Well, if one day you decide to start a new game and you get back to Holloween town you can find a save in the mansion and get the trinity.

I think I can help you with Sephiroth. I just can't remember the strategy for fighting him, a friend told me, right now. When I remember I'll tell you.

I have a question, if someone can answer it for me. I was wondering when you get the upgrade of Aero to Aerora and to Aeroga. I would really like to know. Thanks

Magnus9, I just remembered alittle about the strategy for fighting Sephiroth. One, have alot of curing items on you. Two, at least have Aeroga to protect yourself with. Third, keep Sephiroth locked on to at all times. Fourth, level up alittle more, like to level 70+. A friend of mine told me that Superglide helps alittle in this fight. One time to use it is when you get him down alittle in Hp and he starts to say out an attack. You can use superglide to get close to him and attack him to cancal the attack, if you are fast enough to get to him in time. That's all I heard. I hope you can beat him.

Elln9999: Most places are good for leveling up. If you want to level up fast you can go to high Battle Lv. worlds or you can fight in the tournaments. I haven't really used the tournaments for leveling up at the moment. I'll be doing that later.

I kicked the crap outta Sephiroth! I didn't believe i could do it until i beat him again for the 2nd time! im lvl 80 and i got mostly everything cept the ultima keyblade.

When he casts Sin Harvest MAKE SURE U HAVE SECOND CHANCE AND AT LEAST 4 ELIXERS!!!!! don't bother fighing him if u don't have those, or u can distrupt his sin harvest but u gotta be really quick, so u should have superglide to get to him and hit him fast. A MUST have in the fight is Ars Arcunum, one good reason is when he does his fire attack, where the fire surrounds him, and u get caught in the middle most of the time, use ars arcunum and it won't hit u.......just keep doing this and jumping alot towards him and using your combos and u should come out the victor, or die trying lol :)

i can show u guys a pic of me kickin his ass lol, i got the camera and took a picture of it to prove it ^___^;

nah just the regular lvl up skills

Tamahome
29-10-2002, 02:19 PM
For anyone who needs a good strategy for beeting sephiroth i got one. I beet him at lvl 67. You need at least one mp rage ability equipped, mp haste, second chance, and strike raid, make sure you have no other of the special attacks equipped (like ragnarok, etc.). The mp rages are so every time he hits you you gain a lot of mp since he is very powerful.

Now for a strategy. Strike raid is key to beeting him here. In the first stage of fighting him you should just hit him once then back up and he will use his fire attack then you use strike raid on him. His first form his quite easy.

His second form is when he starts using sin harvest. What you have to do is whenever you hear him say sin harvest, as fast as you can target him and use strike raid, this should interrupt him and it won't be used. If he does manage to use it then have an elixir ready, you will have to use it very fast because he runs up to you and hits you after he uses it. Also this where second chance comes into play because if you don't have it equipped you will die, its very useful in this battle. When you get some good hits in on him he uses an ability which i'll just call omnislash because thats what it represents. When he uses this use strike raid because when you use it you are invulnerable so he will inflict no damage on you.

Then the insane form comes, a green vortex will surround him and he will drop some meteors down on you that start spinning around the arena. These are quite easy to dodge though but after this attack he will start going crazy fast and slashing at you like a madman. You need to be quick when you use heal here because he will do massive damage to you, but because of mp rage and haste you will have lots of mp to spare. He still uses sin harvest here but not as often but be ready for it because he could use it out of nowhere all of a sudden. He could also use omnislash but just use the same strategy as before. Just strike raid over and over again and he should go down fairly easily.

It might take a few tries but once you get used to fighting him you will be able to beet him quite easily. You don't get anything for beeting him except for an entry on him in your journal and you get to see him die pretty cool. You also get a whole lot of experience, 18,000 per battle. This is a very good way to level up to level 100 pretty fast if you get used to beeting him. I hope that this straqtegy works for you guys because it worked for me pretty well.

Good luck!
:)

Tamahome
30-10-2002, 03:54 PM
Yes this is my own strategy. I haven't gone to the faq page for kingdom hearts yet because I usually don't use faqs until my second time through the game just to clear up any unfinished optional things. But if my strategy is like the one on gamefaqs might as well go there because they can probably explain it more in detail. Maybe i can visit there and learn a few things myself as well:cool:

Nope the game isnt hard at all really.

Sephiroth is a secret character that you can battle at the arena if you get that far. Personally its nothing really exciting to see. Actually Im still wondering what the hell FF characters were doing in this game. They served no purpose what so ever. They just all huing around in a room in traverse town. This game wouldnt even have been affected if they were taken out of it.

Is Sephiroth that guy they showed with the blonde spiky hair? I had to battle him, but I don't think I was supposed to beat him, because it was near the beginning of the game, and when he beat me, thats when the three headed dog came out. He was dressed in leather, and had a scarf around his neck.

A question, though: What district is the keyhole in Traverse Town located? Who do I have to battle to get to it? Cuz, as of now, I'm going in circles!

Their world was destroyed. This world would be the Final Fantasy world. Therefore they have to find a place like Traverse town to hang around in because they have nowhere else to go. I think it makes the game really cool, cause you meet all these characters from FF7. One of the great things about this game is that it's kinda like a nostalgia trip.

Well if youd payed attention to what I said earlier youd understand why I question them being in the game. They had no impact on the story what so ever and frankly were just out of place. Maybe if they played some part in the game besides just sitting in a room the whole time I wouldnt mind so much but it was ridiculous. I think SQUARE was making a Disney game and then just decided at the last minute that maybe FF characters could be included and itd be cool(bring in easy sales).

The real stars of the show were the Disney characters and the nostalgia was awesome in that aspect but FF shouldve never been included in this game and I still dont see why it was. Well besides the obvous reason that itll rake in fanboys everywhere. Plus they used all the stupid FF characters! Where the hell was Locke?! =P

I know for sure I wouldn't even rent this (I don't rent too much) had it not been their existance in this game but I actually really enjoyed this game so even if Kingdom Hearts 2 comes out with no Final Fantasy characters I still would buy it.

I bought the game because it was made by squaresoft, got good reviews, and contain Final Fantasy characters. Really enjoying it - they have built a lot on the stuff they did for ffX, like the face engine.... man that looks good.

The blonde spiky haired character is Cloud Strife.
You don't have to fight him on the beginning island at the start. Those training fights you can have with characters on the island are optional.

To answer your question with the keyhole in Traverse Town, you need the red trinity ability. The keyhole is located in District Two. You have to ring the bell which is located above the machine shop in this district three times.

It's only one disk. I haven't really seen a PS2 game with more then one disk.
