i think it would be cool to have a sword like his. but its amazing when you watch him fight with it. like when theres a whole bunch of ppl he just goes through them so fast. also i couldnt believe that his sword actually broke when he was fighting sejiro i think thats how you spell his name. oh well. but it was cool when he got his new sword and busted up cho.

..I have a replica of Kenshin's Reverse-blade...I don't use it, but it is..ahmm, quite interestin'..^^;;

I had it specially made, an' it cost a $hitload 'a $$$, but it was worth it. That's all I'm sayin', but th' guy was specializing in replicas of Samurai swords, an' I had 'ta explain why Kenshin wasn't a Samurai..>.<..but Artbooks, manga, and media are great for design specs, de gozaru..tho th' he said on th' Nakago, he inscribed "Rurouni Kenshin" ..I ain't takin' it apart 'ta find out, tho...it's really fer havin' a Kenshin sword..heh..

ha! then i was right! there is no such thing as a SAKABA - or did i misunderstand you?
but hey, even though it cost you, i can tell it was worth it - especially if you are a big RRK fan! - now all you have to do is find a master of Hiten Mitsurugi and you'll be like Kenshin!
I really don't know if a Sakaba _does_ exist out of specialty, but it is very kick-@$$ kakkoi to have one! ^_^
I've been considering doin' a Kenshin Cos Play in the future..Suzaku knows I have th' hair an' th' sword, not to mention pale skin...hmmmmm...

ive been searching for one in different places but i've never seen one - in reality or on print (aside from Kenshin related material of course!)
i myself was planning to spend on a sword, but couldnt decide which sword to buy. when i saw RRK, the thought of replicating his sword came to my mind (there are good blacksmiths near my place and that they make all sorts of stuff - you wouldnt believe the quality of thier blades, i have a jungle knife made by them, had it ever since i was grade three and it still looks like brand new despite the extreme conditions it was subjected to)- however i lost interest in RRK when i saw EVA last year but now that i've finished watching the whole RRK series + i have the money to spare im thinking of getting something big - like a sword maybe.

dang i cant believe that you got a cool tight ass sword. it would be cool if you could take the sword and fly through ppl like kenshin. man i cant believe you guys have the mula to spend on it. all i have is a wooden sword kinda like karous that belongs to my pop.
hey, i spend money on anime and things i like at the expense of something else, its not like i have a steady supply of cash y'know :(
I collect swords...and while most of my collection are replicas, I do have an antique Japanese sword. I am not yet sure what sort of 'warrior' it was used by, but it has a 3 foot folded with a very slight curve and a foot long handle....
When I took it to be sharpened, the guy in the shop called the cops for some reason :)

There is such a thing as a Sakaba sword in real life, I believe. Not positive, though. ^^

i have done some research in the past, and i have never seen/read of a sakaba much less anything resembling it - if you are going to look into the purpose of the samurai sword it wouldnt fit. personally, i think that the sakaba was invented for kenshin - since it would only prove the point and image which they were trying to portray in him - a former assasin who tries to atone for his sins by swaring not to kill yet uses his sword for helping those in need.

I think that the sakaba sword was a real sword, a training sword. Sorta like Kaoru's wooden one. ^^
i really dont know, looks like i'll try to find some Japanese friends to do a little research for me - or we could wait for someone on this board who can say so...

I am having a custom sword made as well, kenshin style with the reversed blade! it will cost a crap laod... and im getting all 3 sizes made, even thiough kenshin does not have all three sizes of the sword, i still want 3 =) search the interent for custom sword makers and most can do it for you... there is no "official" replica... but you can get some pics of it and thats all you need... im not gonig to use it when i get it, but im having it strong enough that i could use it and not break it... im not saying that i can do things like kenshin can, but i kick ass with a sword, i have 2 cheap ones that i practice cuts with and some good ones that i collect... as a martial artist its my goal to master every weapon!
You remind me of someone...who ;)
I have been collecting oriental weapons for a while and believe me, some of them are really unique....but fun to use :lol:

I have both :D ....But don't ask me to demonstrate the 3 Sectioned Staff...I still havn't got the hang of it.
I can hit myself easily enough, but hitting my opponent is another matter :lol:

I get my swords off http://www.ebay.com http://www.bingshop.com and various other places (stores magizines)... i am having a custom sword made, a kenshin replica, from all the pics ive seen i have a pretty good idea but i want to get a great pic of it =) it will have the reversed blade and everything =) im a martial artist so i have an extensive weapon collection ranging from simple nunchaku to hand claws to swords etc... =) swords are so fun especially when you know how to use them =)

find a place in your area and go for it... dont take tae kwon do or ju jitsu unless its REAL ju jitsu... which should only be tought to high level students... the korean art (tae kwon do) is more hmmmm frilly... less effective for street combat... go for karate or aikido... sword classes are fun too! well any weapon class is fun =) a reputible instructor is also good =) dont just go to bobo's house of martial arts =) the instructor i learn from has a title of soke, there are only hmmm 7 sokes in the US? i think 7 but dont quote me on that... more than 5 less than 10... soke is as good as it gets... mmmmm i love bragging about my teacher =) so fun hehehe =) he has more black belts than i can count... like 59 different weapons, 28 different styles.. and he made his own art... seigi bushido ru (not sure of spelling, but it means way of the ritious warrior) mmmmmm great man that john wilcox jr. he so powerful =) hahahaahah!!!!!!

hmm...i just saw a replica of the sword that is used in the TV series Highlander on Ebay.com, and it looked pretty cool. since i like Highlander so much i think im gonna get one, and there was no sword similar to what kenshin is using.

ive checked ebay 34954353495 times looking for kenshin swords but alas there is no official kenshin sword =( i have a highlander replica... be careful because the ones with the ivory like handles (ivory like) are very cheap... one broke in my hands literally and i was out 40 bucks =( i have one that hasnt broken yet that i practice with... 440 steal is not strong enough to use... dont even try... if you want to get a sword strong enough to use its gonna cost you like 1500 =( at least 5160 steal... and a good handle is important too...
ive had bad experiences with swords on ebay... be careful... try http://www.bingshop.com ive bought from him a few times and hes nice... hes a lil slow on the email replies though... his auctions on ebay get overpriced... but his ebay name is bingshop... good luck on your sword quest...
and yes highlander does kick ass... i used to watch it all the time... i havnt seen the new movie yet =( i will eventually

bing shop has some nice swords, no highlander replicas though... but nice swords.. and many other matial arts weapons, i have bought from his site and from him on ebay...
im prolly going to see highlander tomorrow

you were right, he has a very nice collection of swords. I really like the bamboo stick sword(i forgot whats it called)and its very affordable. maybe i'll get one.

i dunno, my sis has 3 volumes of the manga but the closest pic to the sword was on the cover with kenshin holding it
well even without the manga, there are like a thousand RRK merchandise out there - pencil boards, stickers, t-shirts, wall scrolls, etc. all you do is look around... or you could wait for someone to give you something...
