Yes; I just finished watching. And I must say I am considerably unhappy with the treatment of the dubbing. Inuyasha sounds like a freaking skateboarder, and why the heck can't they stick with the proper pronounciation of "Kikyou"?! That seriously bothered me.. "Kee-kee-oh"... ugh. Kagome's VA also really annoyed me, though I was glad to see the opening/ending sequences remained intact.

I only watched because I was curious about the voice actors, and now that I have satisfied my curiousity, I won't be watching again.

i dont understand why people hate the dub, richard cox is a very good inu yasha, heck , i liked all the VA's except for one (kaede). most of the forums i went through liked the dub (there are a few that doesnt though)

I thought the dub was perfect, as always is the case with Viz. Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone.

The show itself was nothing outstanding but was pretty good. Glad to see they didn't go the digital clothing route for the edits.

I watched it last night too and I was pretty pleased with the dub, I've seen a lot worse and the guy whom does the voice was in Zoids as well, I think hes a good voice actor.

The show itself was pretty cool too ^_^

I just saw it last night. The dub seems better than most(thinks later dbz eps). I'll give the actors time to warm up to their roles.
And was it just me or did the demon lady seem to have her breats edited out.

It's simply a matter of personal opinion. I always prefer to watch foreign films/anime with the subtitled original audio track because that's how it was intended to be seen. Anime is produced and targetted for the Japanese market, hence the first and "truest" interpretation of the show is the one with the original Japanese voice actors. Of course, the subbed versus dubbed issue is an entirely different debate in and of itself upon which I'm only scratching the surface; my primary reason for disliking the dubbed Inuyasha is that I absorbed whatever fansubs I could get my hands on. My ears are accustomed to the original Japanese VAs and the voice inflections of the dialogue that simply don't transcend the Japanese-English language gap. I'd probably have a different opinion if I had started with the dubbed version.

I saw Inuyasha for the first time on AS Saturday. I really liked it. And personally, I liked this much better than Pilot Candidate...Or Candidate Goddess, whatever you wanna call it.

And as for People hating the dub...
Call me simple minded, But I'd Rather listen and watch a movie rather than read it. True, there is some crap out there, (DBZ, Season3 *cough*). Hell, I have a copy of The Cowboy Bebop movie that's fansubbed, and poorly. So, just because it's english, doesn't make it crap. Same goes for toonami and CN haters. Ok, I've rambled enough.:sweatdrop

Eh. Different people have different opinions on dubs. I personally didn't mind Inuyasha's voice, or Sota's, though the others bothered me. Inuyasha was even dubbed by one of the guys who did the dub-voice of Ranma. ^_^

And yes, they edited out the centipede chick's chest, so that she had a guy's chest instead of breasts. Except for one frame. There was one frame they forgot, and my friends and I were all cracking up. But now that we've seen Viz's dub, I think I at least (and most likely my friends) will stick to the subtitled version.

The thing is, though-- and I know this isn't just me, since I've talked to a lot of other people who experience the same thing-- when you're watching something with subtitles, after a time you "forget" you're reading them. I guess the brain becomes effecient enough at comprehending the text after a few minutes that one can notice at the screen and its entirety; or something like that.

But yeah, like anything subtitles have a downside. For example, I have to sit close to my TV when I watch a subtitled DVD since my sucky eyesight doesn't pick up the subtitles from a distance, which means no comfy couch. :( And I can see how the strain of attempting to dicepher subtitled text would take the enjoyment out of it, so I can understand how someone who isn't a strong reader would have a difficult time with subs.

Still, I think the ability to listen to the original voice actors and dialoque direction outweighs the downsides to subs. And I've ranted on far too long, now, ^^;; ..why are my posts always thrice as long as I intend? o_o;;

I'm really happy with this series.

I prefer sub, but what else can one expect on CN.

There is one really good thing about dub. You can do something in else while watching it (unless you are really good at Japanese) Sub requires an undivided attention.

i watch both sub and dub, so im not really one to take on either side.

however, i used to listen to all dubs (i still am a dub fan though), and i used to say, "if i was going to watch the show subbed, then id rather read the manga"

well anyhow, i personally think the dub is good, no one else could do a better inu yasha than richard cox, and kagome's VA has grown on me. well, who cares, lets just watch the show!

Yeah, Viz is handling the release of the videos/DVDs. They also "domesticated" Ranma, Maison Ikkoku, and pretty much everything else done by Rumiko Takahashi (the artist/writer behind Inuyasha). I think the first Inuyasha DVD is due out sometime in November... though, actually, I don't know if they'll be putting it out on video, too, since it's more or less obsolete now and a bunch of other companies (Tokyopop comes to mind) have recently cancelled VHS production.

Yes any new shows showing on Adult swim will be edited to TV 14 standards like Cowboy Bebop was. They've actually stated this numerous times (since they started Yu Yu Hakusho) The reason the others are cut is because they were meant for Toonami. There probably will be a more cut down version of Inuyasha like there is for Yu Yu so they can show it on Toonami eventually.

Though, i thought Inuyasha was suppose to have more off a dirty mouth. He's cursed less than Yuusuke so far.

Some of the fansubbers seem to have gone a little overboard on the swearing... and viz may have cleaned it up a bit as well for TV airing.

Well, Inuyasha does have something of a dirty mouth, I guess, but it's more insulting than swearing. According to my friends (who have been studying Japanse for a long time and should know by now), it's hard to curse in Japanese. More words accurately translate to "darn" or "shoot" or "gosh" instead of actual swearwords. ::shrug::

I've only seen the first half of episode 2 since the cd i burnt it onto got sracthed and the second half is useless.

Anyway from what I remember, Inuyasha is demanding the Shinkon No Tama and Kagome is running scared. Kikyo's younger sister (Kabe or whatever) casts a spell on a rosary and it ends up around Inuyasha's neck. She tells Kagome that she has to bind the rosary with a command and after a while Kagome tells him to sit and well let's say Inuyasha isn't a problem to Kagome after that.

Later in the episode Kagome goes for a walk and is kidnapped by a bunch of thugs, their leader is a big man and uses a big sword, he swings it around killing his men in an attempt to get the jewel of Kagome, Inuyasha shows up and we find out that a raven or some bird was in their controlling the person, it swallows the jewel and flies off. Thats all I saw but from the last ep preview Kagome shot an arrow at the youkai and it killed it but split the hinkon no tama into many many pieces and hence around the world.

Anyone else want to give a way more accurate description and fill in the bits I missed?

Fansubbers to go overboard in terms of swearing and the later inuyasha eps have really ------ translation. The worst case of over the top swearing I've seen is the ShinsenGumi fansubs of Rurouni Kenshin.

Anyway here's the AnimeOnDvd review of the first Inuyasha DVD Volume

Of the episodes shown so far, I'm liking this third one the most. Cool villain, and she looks hot. Wow, go figure. I have more questions as each episode passes, but it's a good thing since it's keeping my attention. REALLY looking forward to next week's episode after that ending. Overall grade: A (anytime a theme song grows on me, it gets extra points).

Well, as I've already mentioned, they airbrushed the centipede chick's chest to look like a man's chest. I'm not watching any other eps until Miroku shows up (prolly in December; I'll stick with subs for now), so I wouldn't know if they covered up Yura more than she already is. My guess is no. She's covered enough, compared to the centipede, and the centipede was only airbrushed. ::shrug::

No, they didn't cut anything out of the scene of Kagome bathing. They don't actually show much at all over the course of the series; neither breasts nor blood (unlike the manga which has both in ample quantities). Even the centipede woman was lacking nipples as I recall. This was a prime time show in Japan so they couldn't get away with the stuff that makes it into late night anime.

Yes, I am aware of the irony of having to broadcast a prime time anime late at night in the US.

B_K was talking about kagome's bath scene in episode 3, i was actually surprised they left it untouched. i was expecting something (like a swimsuit or something).. and yes, yura was untouched as well.

as for the centitpede lady, yea, her breast was reduced in episode 1, but Viz left in her breasts in episode 2 (during the preview) and episode 3 (during the flashback). so far, ep. 2 and 3 was aired uncut (and according to VIZ, most of the series will be uncut)

hmmm.... its maybe not the best to trust my opinion completely about this topic, but...
most words don:t translate directly but there are ways of saying things that are equally as "bad" as some of the worst english words. and being seriously rude to people is about as bad as actual swearing here. i don:t read fansubs but i guess they:re just compensating.
its a cultural difference, but i promise you that inuyasha has a fairly foul mouth. i don:t always understand what exactly the problem is but my 8 year old host sister is only allowed to watch the show under my supervision.
the things that girl teaches me!

oh, and in the japanese manga/anime, kagome says "osuwari" which you (fittingly) only really use for dogs etc.

And I feel that Inu Yasha is tame compared to most animes, though I thourouly enjoy it :) Inu Yasha is so cute :) especially in last nights episode where he took his kimono off

And is this the first anime in America to be put on TV before it came to tape? I enjoy the feeling of watching something on TV that's still airing in Japan as well.

i'll give the reader's digest version- at the beginning of the episode, Kagome is taking a bath in the lake, after her bath, she wears traditional clothing of feudal japan in that era (to be precise, she wore the same outfit as Kikyo). becuase of that inuyasha remembers kikyo when he sees kagome, so he says to kagome "Take your clothes off" of course getting a smak in the head (btw, he mant change into her normal outfit). anyway, Kagome goes back to the well that she used to go to feudal japan when Yura of the hair attacked kagome and obtained her Jewel, making kagome fall into the wall and going back to her own time. meanwhile, Yura uses the villagers to attack Inuyasha, and at the end of the episode, they show Kagome's two bath scened totally unedited :D

as for episode 4, Kagome goes back to feudal jaoan and helps inuyasha defeat Yura. end of episode.

BTW guys, Sesshomaru comes next episode :D

Here's that site's summary that I was talking about before

Episode 3 10/30/00
Honekui no Ido kara Tadaima
Down the Rabbit Hole and Back Again
After an arguement between Inu-Yasha and Kagome over his peeping at her while she was bathing, the pair decide to call it quits. Inu-Yasha wants to search for the Shikon Jewel alone and Kagome wants nothing more than to return home. On her way back to the well she is attacked by Yura of the Hair, a demon who is using her hair to control the villagers and make them attack Inu-Yasha and Kaede. Luckily for them, Kagome is able to see the strands of hair that are invisible to everyone else. Thus, Inu-Yasha must make amends and try to find Kagome and get her to help.

Episode 4 11/6/00
Sakasagami no Youma, Yura
Yura of the Demon Hair
Out of nowhere Inu-Yasha arrives in present day Tokyo to get Kagome to return to the past with him. Immediately, Kagome notices one of Yura's hairs on Inu-Yasha and quickly realizes that her family could be in jeopardy if she doesn't help out. Returning to the past Inu-Yasha and Kagome confront Yura, and while she and Inu-Yasha fight, Kagome manages to locate the source of her power, a comb, and destroy it.

I would post the site but I'm sure most of you here would read it and spoil it for yourself^^

I don't see why people are so quick to judge a dub like this considering that dubs have gotten a lot better over the years. We've only seen the first few episodes when the voice actors and actresses are still getting used to their roles. I'll judge the dub after about 20 episodes.

I'm actually enjoying this series very much. It's the best besides Cowboy, Outlaw Star and Candidate for goddess. Is it true that every night Inuyasha turns human. That is when it's a full moon.

Inuyasha turns into full-human every full moon.

BTW how did they translate Inuyasha yelling "Sankontetsou!"? If he goes "Soulshreddingclaws!" ridiculously fast I'm going to get violent and I mean slamdunking baby seals into pools of molten steel violent.

*shudders at the thought of Kiraikotsu or Kazana being translated like that*

Anyway Sesshoumaru rocks and episode 6 is better than 5.

Sesshomaru sounds pretty good in english, if im not mistaken *i think* his eng VA is david kaye.

anyway, episode 6 aired last night, im thouroughly pissed the CN didnt show the opening "Change The World" (i just hope its not a permanent thing) anyhow, heres all the edits so far (from a member in toonzone):

episode 1:
mistress centipede's breasts were reduced

episode 2:
uncut

episode 3:
mistress centipede's breast was reduced (like ep. 1) in the episode preview

episode 4:
uncut

episode 5:
scene of wolves after Sesshomaru butchers them cut

episode 6:
scene of inu yasha's head fully inside the un-mother's chest (exposing her breasts) cut

scene of Inu yasha's head leaving the un-mother's chest (once again exposing her breasts) cut

un-mother's face painted out after Sesshomaru attacks Inu Yasha

-------------------------------------

so that's pretty much it. everything cut out was nudity (fully exposed breasts only) and extreme gore.

Why did they edit out the face of the un-mother?

not her face, her head was chopped off and it was on the grass (just her head). supposed to be a gruesome scene for some reason.

Who is that lady they show at the end of the show with the gigantic boomerang on her back. And who is Shippou?

:) Giant boomerang lady is a demon hunter who was burried alive and now seeks revenge. She won't come in till ep. 12 or so :( She's real feminist and hates being protected during a fight.

Shippou is a very very hyper kawaii fox demon. He's kinda annoying and Inu Yasha is always beating him up for stating the obvious that noone else wants to say. Well you'll see in a few weeks.

I still haven't been replied on how they've done Sankontetsou, I'd appreciate it if you would. It's quite likely they'll go for the same translation method (yell it in eng/jap) in both.

Rin comes quite late in the series (40 IIRC, but my memory on old IY eps is not all that good...) and AFAIK the ones you're talking about are still pretty early in the series.

Miss_Misato

They're only not showing the opening theme song so that they have more time for the show (commercials on America are longer) so they don't have to edit due to shortened time slot. Which would you prefer, not having an opening you can easily (and legally) find online, or have the show edited for time?

I think that they can translate it to 'The Wound of the Wind', it sound quite good...
Well, not when Inuyasha's yelling it.. But they can do like they did in Ranma 1/2 and tell the name in Japanese and what does it mean...

Basically Inuyasha was running around the place and being pretty dangerous (don't remember if he already had the SnT or if he was being "Give it or die"). Anyway, Kaede does some spell thing on him and tells Kagome to utter a binding enchantment or something. Kagome tells her she knows no such thing, but Kaede tells her to just say something that would bind him and thus the semi-legendary osuwari!/sit boy! is formed. :D

Much as I'd like to let this old thread die, friend from another forum type place informed me that Viz or CN or someone involved in the dub has changed Shippou's gender, since (quoting my friend) "that little sidekick girl they picked up is cute!" Now I'm not sure if this friend of mine, who isn't exactly the most Inuyasha-savvy person in the world, just saw an episode and assumed because of Shippou's bow and (apparently) the female voice actor that he was a girl... or if Viz has done what I and I'm sure many others have hoped they wouldn't do.

But since I refuse to watch the dub myself, I'm not going to start bitching at how awful Viz is for changing Shippou's gender (?)... until one of you guys, who does indeed watch the dub, confirms or denies my suspicions. :>

Timon
24-11-02, 03:09 AM
nah, they didn't change the gender, they still talk about as 'he', at least I think so. First time I saw him I thought he was a girl too, but he does have a 'younger' sounding voice so it was hard to tell, then somehow I got it into my mind that he was a male, since I'm pretty sure they used male pronouns for him. I can't really think of any other way I figured he was a boy.

Kitsusan
24-11-02, 04:51 AM
Well, yeah, I think Shippou's supposed to be at one of those young ages where androgeny is common. ;)

I'm glad to know Viz didn't change his gender, though. I mean, if you're going to go as far as to alter something like that, why not butcher the whole story? :P Glad they didn't.

After intense pressure from a stranger I met in a chatroom yesterday, I finally watched my first episode of Inuyasha... And I was really impressed. :D I have to say I really love the character designs. (Although I really wonder how short they can make Kagome's skirt. Are the uniforms of Japanese schoolgirls really that risque IRL?!)

The dub voices weren't too bad, but compared to the Japanese VAs ( :heh: yes, I had to run out and get the first dvd after seeing that episode last night...) the English VAs are kind of annoying after awhile. Why does it seem that English VAs always have to be so over-the-top? (Of course, maybe the seiyuu are like that too, and we just can't tell because it's in Japanese...)

And I did notice something strange in the subtitles from the dvd: whenever Inuyasha cursed (like "kuso" or "shimatta") the subtitles would say, "Nyargh" or some other garbled phrase. Cracked me up. If I hadn't known what those words actually meant, I would have really thought it was gibberish that he was spouting out...

:heh: I'm rambling.

What really draws me to the series is the fact that the characters seem a lot more complex than those in a lot of other series that I've seen. I've only seen four episodes, but it always seems like there's something more there behind the actions of each character. Or maybe I'm only imagining it...

And does anyone else here compare Inuyasha to Dark Schneider? I mean, look at it: white (silver) hair, golden eyes, arrogant attitude, foul mouth, a lot of power. Although Inuyasha is a heck of a lot cuter. :D

Well, those are all my random, completely off-topic thoughts on Inuyasha. :heh:

Yep, they're supposed to have two episodes on tonight, both new ones according to CN's web page schedule at http://www.adultswim.com/schedule/action/index.html . When I checked it said they were both on at 11pm, but someone obviously made a typo. I don't know about in general, but they're doing it for tonight at least. FWIW, I think you're right, Takeshi-chan, that Inuyasha is now being shown twice on Saturday nights. The block last night advertised it as being on at 11 and 11:30, after it was shown, and they wouldn't do that if it was just a one shot temporary change. So I guess we get two Inuyasha shows a week for a while now. :) No Outlaw Star though and even though I only saw a couple of them, I kind of like that one, too.

Didn't they advertise it on TV? I knew they were showing Inuyasha twice this weekend, and while I probably did see that on line, I'm pretty sure I also saw it on TV as well.

One thing you could consider doing is record the entire block, that way you won't miss anything. I do this for the WB Saturday morning cartoons and just started doing it for AS on Saturday nights because typically I'll be asleep (WB) or not home (AS) when the shows are on and I want to see them. It's easier for me to tape the whole block and fast forward through the shows I don't want to see than to pick and choose specific programs to record, especially since my old VCR can only hold 8 timer recordings at once. If you tape some shows anyway, this might be a good way to make sure you don't miss anything. Just a thought.

Inuyasha has 5 different ending themes.

#1: My Will by Dream
#2: Fukai Mori by Do As Infinity
#3: Derest by Ayumi Hamasaki
#4: Every Heart by BoA
#5: Shijitsu no Uta by Do As Infinity

It switces off about every 20-25 episodes. Ending #1 is from episodes 1-20, ending #2 is from episodes 21-43, ending #3 is from episodes 44-65(I think, not sure), ending #4 is from episodes 66-85, and ending #5 has been used since episodes 86 till current(Which is episode 95).

I'm wondering what episode you americans have seen upto on Adult Swim.

So who can fill me in.

Dr0nak
16-01-03, 12:35 PM
Hmm. I guess I actually like it this way better mainly because we get four shows a week instead of just one. I have to tape the Adult Swim block either way -- Saturday nights because I'm often out when the shows start and weekday nights because I can't stay up that late every day. Anything on that late at night is most likely going to be a tape now, watch later deal for me. Although when it was on Saturdays I would sometimes stay up and watch the end of the block after I got home. But I like having more shows per week like this. Getting four shows instead of one helps make up for having to tape it all the time. And if I watch them over breakfast and dinner, it doesn't actually take all that much time out of my regular daily schedule.

P.S. -- The episode that aired last night was called "Naraku's Insidious Plot". A little web searching seems to indicate that this was episode 25.

I think they've set it at Tuesday through Friday from 12:30-1:00am (that's real late night Monday through Thursday). They're just continuing to show episodes in order from where they left off when it was shown on Saturday nights, so if last night was 25, tonight will be 26, next week 27-30, etc. Although I believe that Inuyasha is being taken off the air, at least temporarily, in February. Look at some other threads around here or in the general forum for more details. I can't remember them offhand.

Stupid controversies. They're just another way for parents to avoid their own responsibilities while blaming their children's problems on some innocent third party. If parents have a problem with their children staying up late, it's their responsibility to make sure their children are in bed.

As for the new days, I actually like it better too... four times a week instead of once a week is always better.

Taping shows to save later only works well if there's nothing else on around the same time that you want to see. I couldn't tape just one show out of the Adult Swim block to save because I want to see them all. And having to buy tons of 8 hour tapes so that I can save every show from the whole block is just too much trouble (and money). So I tape them then watch them for the week, rewind it and use the same tape for the Saturday morning cartoons I want to see, then start all over again next week with the same tape. If I really like something enough to want to have it to keep, I guess I'll just have to buy DVDs. Too bad Inuyasha has so few out and you only get 3 shows per disk. Oh well, maybe I won't be able to buy that one. I do like it, but man, the cost involved in getting a series that long with so few shows per disk is just ridiculous.

I concurr. They should replace home Movies with Sealab 2021 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Naraku

They should replace it all with REAL anime...or if not all of it, home movies, with another anime

Fire Seer

And if they cant replace it with an anime, then I agree with FayeFayev.

JTurner954

Home Movies is funny because they depend on dialogue for laughs instead of action. It's a good show.

I completely understand why people hate the animation AKA Squigglevision.

That's probably why I don't like it. I would listen to the dialogue, but I get distracted by the "Squigglevision".... It's very annoying. It seems like there are a lot of cartoons out there now that go for that kind of animation, but I really can't stand it. Looks like a preschooler did the cell work... Give me clean-cut, pretty animation any day. I like everything to look nice, not shoddy and wiggly.

Right now, Cartoon Network is showing every episode in order. For the first 10 or so episodes, they squiggle. However, the animation changed starting from Tuesday's episode. It looks the same, but it doesn't squiggle. I heard they used something called a Flash player now.

well, that is one of the reasons i don't like it. the other being that it's just not my kind of show. The only actual cartoon that I like is real anime, with some acceptions

Fire Seer
06-02-03, 06:20 PM
I think that the actual point of the show is stupid. Its about a boy with a poor mother who tapes his friends in stupid costumes while hanging out with a poor soccer coach....

Naraku

Wow, you think that's all the show is?? So by that logic, The Simpsons is also about a poor family.

If you don't get Home Movies, it's probably because you're too young to get it.

Simpsons is a good show because it has actual comedy. I dont get home movies cause I couldnt care less. And if being 15 and turning 16 on feb 23 is young then you must be even younger then me  :heh: :finger: :homer:  (i'm just joking around you know, if you want to think that then go ahead)

JTurner954
06-02-03, 10:12 PM
Home Movies does have actual comedy. They just depend on dialogue more than visual comedy and that is one of the reasons why HM is unique. At the official website, they said that they record the dialogue and then do the animation.

As the disclaimer says, it's intended for audiences over the age of 18 so teenagers aren't the demographic ( I am 22, Fire Seer).

Now that Inuyasha's episodes restarted yesterday, how about we talk about that? After all, this is the Inuyasha board.

Fire Seer
06-02-03, 10:16 PM
You cut me cold man, thinking that you all big cause your 22 and shyt. But, since you actually went to the website (didnt even know there was one...) then you must like the show and your just sticking up for it, which is ok regardless of the fact the many dont.

on topic I was wondering when they were gonna restart Inuyasha, and maybe for some it was good incase they didnt see the beggining episodes.

JTurner954
06-02-03, 10:29 PM
The web address is shown after the credits of every episode (with the soup can shaking at the end). Personally though, I think Adult Swim should get rid of The Oblongs and never bring back Baby Blues.

Yeah, the repeated episodes will definitely help those who missed an episode on the weekend catch up. Plus they can now hear the first ending theme song which I personally like more than the second one.

It's too bad they don't play the openings anymore.

Fire Seer
06-02-03, 10:39 PM
(sorry if I sounded rude before :( ) But, I think the opening theme defiantly added a special something to the show

Naraku
06-02-03, 11:00 PM
*sigh* you guys were going at it there for a second (hope i don't re-kindle the fire) but, Inuyasha just doesn't belong with a show like home movies...Inuyasha is a respectible anime, and oblings is something that belongs on comedy central after south park

JTurner954
06-02-03, 11:17 PM
Well, Reign is going to start soon so that might replace any of the current AS shows (including Inuyasha) if it becomes a hit.

I know that it (Reign) will replace Lupin the 3rd which is right before Inuyasha.

Dr0nak
06-02-03, 11:34 PM
Yup, it looks like they're only reairing the first two episodes of Inuyasha before Reign takes it's place in the AS block. I don't really mind the repeats though it would be nice if they didn't start the replays now and then take a month long break. I didn't see the early episodes. I'm not sure exactly how many I missed, but I was hoping for repeats at some point so that I could see them. It will be nice to actually see the parts of the story I was trying to gather from later episodes and flashbacks or whatever. I didn't expect them to start repeating so soon though. But as others must have pointed out, going from airing the show once a week or even twice a week to four times a week means you run out of new episodes all that much faster. I guess it's not surprising that they'd run out of dubbed episodes quickly then.

JTurner954
06-02-03, 11:36 PM
I heard that Yu Yu Hakusho will be moving to Toonami so maybe Inuyasha will go back to being an hour?

Dr0nak
07-02-03, 12:41 AM
From what I remember of the CN schedule on their site, Inuyasha won't get two time slots. I think one show moves out and Inuyasha comes back, but that's it. Let me see. . . . Thursday, Feb. 27 the AS block from 12 midnight on is Reign: The Conqueror, Lupin the 3rd, Yuyu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop and I think it's that same thing from the 10th to the 27th. I didn't check to make sure, but I know Reign starts on the 10th, so I'm guessing that's the new block (for a few weeks). Monday, March 3 they have Reign, Lupin, Lupin, Cowboy Bebop then Monday, March 10 they have Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Regin, Lupin. They change their shedule *wayyyyy* too often. It seems like every week or two at least one show moves time slots. What's wrong with them? It's so hard to keep track of when the shows you want to watch are on with them moving them around constantly. Anyway, I don't think Inuyasha will be aired twice a night when it returns. They'd burn through the episodes even faster than they are now if they did that.

Oh yeah, hopefully animeontv.com will realize that CN's web page schedule is updated and update theirs, too. That's what I usually use to find out what shows are moving where when. Currently they only copied up to March 2, but dates after that weren't up until just recently.

Naraku
07-02-03, 07:47 AM
well, a lot of people have been saying that that is going to be the new schedule, and i graee with you. It's mostly just a time for dubbing, and if the DO end up replasing InuYasha permanently(JTurner) then they will have a lot of angry viewers on their hands, won't they??

InuFreak
07-02-03, 10:27 AM

BAH! THe show they REALLY need to get rid of is the Ripping Friends.

But back on topic.

They maybe bypassing inuyasha to show the Reign special.

I mean..it may only be a special. *shrug* Like Blue Submarine No.6 was on toonami.

I doubt they will get rid of Inuyasha..
I'd hate to see YYH go to Toonami..<< It's so much funnier in AS! :D

My honest opinion, they need to get something new instead of bebop. I know a lot of people love that show, but we have to make room for upcoming series like Trigun (yes, TRIGUN) and Reign.

Naraku
07-02-03, 10:04 PM

It's style was really hard to get use to at first but it grows on you and really fits into the dark story theme.

Man, are people on this board allergic to VCRs or something? :) So Inuyasha moves to 1am, it's not the end of the world. If you can't stay up that late, tape it. I tape tons of stuff to watch later. That's pretty much why I have a VCR. Sorry, but I'm just surprised at how many people around here seem to not want to tape shows to watch later. I do it all the time so I don't see why some people make such a big deal out of having to do it.

JTurner954
14-02-03, 06:43 PM
Yeah, I have no problem with taping it either. But knowing the diehard fans of Inuyasha, it isn't good news for them (especially since it went from one hour to 12:30 to gone to 1 a.m.). The fans don't like their show being thrown around.

Don't go by people's opinions, go by your own. Don't be critical of a show unless you have experienced it for yourself. Don't judge a show by what others say, judge it by what you think of it. Just because everyone else is bashing Reign doesn't mean you should join in the fun. Watch Reign for yourself and if you hate it it's because of your opinion and not others. Hey, you might even end up liking Reign. ;)

(Haven't seen any myself, but I'm not going to resort to bashing a show I've seen nothing of).

Agreed. It's fine to listen to other people's opinions, but don't let them make up your mind for you. Watch the show yourself first and see if you like it or not. I've watch all of the episodes that aired last week and while I don't totally hate it, I don't particularly like it either. It's rather strange.

Geez, this Reign show is bad. Did anyone manage to get through it without laughing?

They introduced a new character who is bored and tries to knock sense into people. He's the best character in the show. One problem: He's small, is considered a wise man, and jumbles sentences like "Trust me, you will". Does this character sound very similiar to someone from a popular WAR show surrounded with STARS?

How is he different from Yoda you ask? He wears a giant hat and transforms into a dog while wearing the hat (and trying to knock sense into Alexander). BTW, this show is suppose to be taken seriously ( :holds for laughter: ).

If you missed it (lucky you), it's on at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) EST.

And remember, this show is responsible for Inuyasha's removal.

InuFreak
18-02-03, 11:17 AM

TheF0rce
18-02-03, 01:03 PM
That episode with the little guy was great.
"Give me the sun" ha! Great answer.

And he turned into a dog using illusion since his nickname was "dog".

And yes he does act like Yoda minus Yoda's incredible dumb fighting moments in the new prequel films [attack of the clones].

This show may be weird, but it’s getting better in the retelling of myth and historical fact department.
At least it's innovative.

Ps. this isn't meant as an insult, but people who don't like Reign seems t be focusing too much on the shallow points of the show.
Meaning namely getting caught up on art style and so forth.

If that’s the case I like to remind everyone that the reason anime is not popular in the States is because of shallow people who refuse to watch quality shows like Inuyasha because of the fact anime is animated and they think such a show is a cartoon for kids.
Both groups are using the surface of the show to deter them and therefore are in the same boat.

On a side note, I just got inuyasha episode 97 whoohooo
I can't wait till the story gets back on tract.

Yup, I saw it.....Not much to say.....Yeah he plot is good, but I got really pushed away by the opening, "Wtf is this", i said.....Then I saw about half, and turned the T.V back to my x-box....97 episodes?

TheF0rce
18-02-03, 01:55 PM
Yup, Japan had more than 98 episodes now

Usualy I hate the filler episodes, but 97 was good.

It started slow at first but got quite entertaining later on.
I recommend it to everyone :D
The story was about Kiara.

I'm getting 98, which is about Kagome teaming up with Kikyou.

InuFreak

Sorry I don't know yet, all I see are raw ones [unsubbed ones] available for dl.

As much as I am "down" with Kouga I have my money on Sess though. ha

Naraku
26-02-03, 08:01 AM
As we all should....And we won't know who won until one of us finds out, will we? *hint hint*

TheF0rce
26-02-03, 01:47 PM

InuFreak

TheF0rce
26-02-03, 05:21 PM
ok i'll just spoil one scene at the bottom :P

And yes of course kouga doesn't beat Sess or Sess kill Kouga.
Its a filler...no main character dies in fillers. :D
Although Kouga proves he's actualy faster than Sess too.

Also btw, we learn from this episode that Jaken has been traveling with Sess for 100 years.
Thats means Sess is older than simply a 100 years and Inuyasha may be very old too and i'm not talking about the 50 years he got sealed to a tree. Those years don't count.

Ok we all know Rin along with her entire mean village was killed by Kouga's wolves and wolf demons.

So in a scene in the episode, we are made to imagine what would happen if Rin wanted revenge on Kouga.

In that scene, Kouga stands infront of Sess and tells him he smells like dog ----.
Rin stands next to Sess and tells Sess "he's the one, sic him!"
Sess eyes turn blood red and fangs burst out his mouth as he gets ready to eat Kouga. :D

Thats it. End of scene lalala :D absolutely loved it when Rin said "sic him!" hahaha

Naraku
26-02-03, 05:23 PM

TheF0rce
26-02-03, 05:42 PM
no one dies silly :P
but you can imagine Sess eating kouga and shake him around in his jaws like a frisbee :D

I wonder if kouga can change form too...doesn't make sense his "real" form is a human.

InuFreak
26-02-03, 05:44 PM
i know how gay is that? he cant even turn into a wolf and he calls himself a wolf demon. at least sess can turn into a cute, vicious puppy dog :D

Naraku
26-02-03, 05:52 PM

kouga did something [you'll have to watch, not that shocking]...and Sess also stopped himself from getting into a serious fight.

Sess's reason for stopping the fight was based on part what Kouga did, and because Kouga was at least a full blood youkai and their common enemy is Naraku.

Both in the end decided that they don't like the half breed Inuyasha and Naraku more so than each other.

You can almost say both parties in the end respected each other or that Kouga was simply apathetic to the whole encounter and Sess thinks Kouga is not worth the effort wasted in killing him.
LOL

aww darn. it would be nice to see kouga killed but sess has his reasons. but kouga is good to have around *hardest thing to say* because its funny watching him and making fun of him. i always say WHAT IS HE WEARING ???!!!!

Naraku
27-02-03, 03:58 PM
I say Kouga is totally oblivious to the fact he almost got killed.....Why do they have to team up >_<.....er beome friendly?

InuFreak
27-02-03, 05:12 PM
kouga doesnt deserve to even look at sesshie!!! sess must be really despreate or sumthin to be nice to kouga. :bawling:

ok back on topic LOL

Episode 100 is about some crazy forest that brings about personal nightmares to each and every character of kagome's gang.

I have to say didn't we have this plot already? ugh!

Also Reign is restarting on tuesday of next week [I'm quite eager to see how the series ends...my gut feeling says Alexander dies as a pawn of fate] and Inuyasha is about to come back on around March.

InuFreak
28-02-03, 04:37 PM
yay alexander dies!!!! yay inuyasha comes back in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!! more sesshie!!!! woohoo!!!!

TheF0rce
01-03-03, 01:04 AM
well episode 100 is ok but nothing great about it write home about LOL.
Ok to be fair, Inuyasha has like one good moment at the end.
*Putting it on Kazza right now*

Ep. 101 [filler] about the story of Miroku and women...now if you been paying attention you won't be surprised when he falls for another lovely, lone maiden who turns out to be a youkai and probably will try to eat him. LOL
Whats with these youkai women? sheesh :P

InuFreak
01-03-03, 10:48 AM

ok heres the April (starting april 1) adult swim schedule...
eastern

12:00am- Trigun
12:30- Inuyasha
1:00- Cowboy Bebop
1:30- Reign

ok here are my complaints:

(1) WTF!!! they switch inuyasha AGAIN. stop screwing with my head!!!first its at 1 then 12:30!!i dont care about the timeslot but CMON! they change it to much.
(2) y are they showing Reign!! OMG that show sucks!
(3) again, WTF!!! they spelled sess's name wrong on the schedule :bawling: :redhot: its Sesshoumaru:inlove: not Sesshomaru!!!!:nono: CN really pisses me off!!!:finger: take that CN!

my praises:

(1) ok its great that inuyasha comes earlier but it dont matter to me cause i tape.*heh*
(2) Cowboy Bebop is still in the lineup which is fantastic because its a great series. i thought they were gonna take it off and i was like NNNNOOOO!! :bawling: but they didnt so i happy now :D
(3) Trigun's premiere is very interesting and i have to check that out. i know what trigun is about but ive never seen it so im excited to rate it!

what about u people, what u think?

FayeFayeV
05-03-03, 09:57 PM
I think you need to invest in some ridalin. :heh:

And I'm perfectly fine with the line up. I watch the whole thing, so I could care less where certain shows are placed.

I actually think they need to give Bebop a rest.....well, It IS a cultural phenomenon, but....let's not not make it a fad.

They should air Gundam 08th MS Team. re-dub it for adult swim, at least. For those who don't like Gundam I suggest watching this series at least once. It my change your view.

Naraku
05-03-03, 10:45 PM
Lol, Ridalin!!! And InuFreak? Nice icon....And I believe that they can, and did change the schedule....And I think they need to give Bebop a rest also.....

InuFreak
05-03-03, 10:47 PM

Naraku
05-03-03, 10:52 PM
Either way, they changed the schedule, and edited Yu Yu Hakusho, to put it on Toonami.....Big mistake on their part.....
