ok, i need some clerafacation-what is the difference between evangelion the movie, death&rebirth, and end of evangelion

is evangelion the movie the same as EoE? and if they are the same, i have heard of two differnt things, EoE air, and EoE true. i heard that EoE true has more scenes than EoE air, and has added songs and stuff.

what is death and rebirth? is that after or before EoE?

please, i need some answers, that way i know what to look for to get the answers of Evangelion.

oh, and i want to put a simple side-note on this thread.
once, on Ebay, i found an evangelion packege that has both death&rebirth, and EoE. they were on actuall DVD, in japenese, and it included two models, one of rei, and the other i think was adam, or lilith (i can't remeber)

the highest bid was $789.00!!! it was well worth the bid, too.

I got this info from an anime site:

There are a number of Evangelion "Movies" floating about, and very few people seem to understand exactly what's what. This page attempts to explain.

There are three basic parts of Evangelion which are not part of the TV series. These are:

Death - a review of the TV series, with substantial extra footage which gives additional background some of what happens in the TV series as well as showing events such as 2nd impact.

Air - A replacement for the TV series episode 25.

Magokoro o, kimi ni ('My true heart to thee') - A replacement for the TV series episode 26.

There is also a component called "Rebirth", which is the first 20 minutes or thereabouts of Air. It only appears as part of "Death and Rebirth" (see below).

Further, there are three versions of Death: "Death", which was put together by Gainax staff, "Death(True)", which is the first version of Death which had input from Anno-san, and "Death(True)2", a slightly modified version which is the version which had theatrical release.

These three components have been combined in a couple of ways to produce what are commonly called the Evangelion Movies:

Death and Rebirth: "Death" followed by "Rebirth".
End of Evangelion: "Air" followed by "Magokoro".
Revival: "Death(True)2" plus the theatrical release versions of "Air" and "Magokoro".
The last of these is rarely seen, since it is so long: At 155 minutes, it will just barely fit onto the longest commonly-used video tapes (T-160 or E-240 when in NTSC mode). This is the version which screened in Japanese theatres.
