I am sorely tempted by that kit..., just to see how they've created the feathers..., soft plastic like the feathers on the PG Wing Custom maybe....?

From other things I've seen, it's not that good.
The feathers are just normal plastic (it appears) and it doesnt' appear as "edgy" as the anime. Looks lame if anything.

Well soft plastic is used in several areas of the model, not just the feathers, so if the model takes a dive, it may not break depending how far it falls and where it lands.

Also, the face is pre-painted, so that alleviates that small bother. I've not heard anything bad about the kit, but I've heard much of anything about it. RahXephon isn't like Gundam, it's not a type of series that deals heavily in merchandise.
