Seiichi Kirima, Nagis father... i was thinking about why he was murdered. I remember reading that he 'knew too much' and he was killed because of it.
Personally, when i saw the series i almost assumed that Seiichi was a member of the Towa Organization... Im not sure why, but it made sense to me. This might give further incentive for Nagi to hunt down the Manticore and to basically appose Towa in general as it seems.

Nagis role is pretty interesting in the sense that its almost similar to Boogiepops, yet at times i wondered how she was so involved with everything -at one point doesnt Nagi say to Suema that Boogiepop killed her father? hah-
Anyway, maybe Seiichi was putting information he knew from being with Towa into his works, a subtle message in some ways that Nagi could have realized when he was killed.
Hell, maybe Saotome was really a composite human whose goal was to further investigate Nagi :D

Seichii was a normal writer/researcher who knew too much. He did not work for Towa, and was not a Composite Human, etc. Towa considered him an "enemy of society" and thus assigned an assassin (same one who took out Kuroda) to kill Seiichi.

As for Saotome, interestingly enough, he kills Nagi in the movie with a box-cutter to the neck. Nagi does, however, come back to life. Long story. But this is why in EP3 Nagi has a flashback where she sees Saotome (in black-and-white) holding a bloody box-cutter knife thingy.

Saotome wanted to kill Nagi because he worked for Towa, and Nagi also knew too much, a lot like her father.

Towa is there to stop change in any way shape or form... So they thought that Seiichis ideas about life and time could seriously alter some peoples perceptions -creating some kind of subtle evolution.
It still seems a little sloppy to me.
I guess i would question what more Nagi knew than say, Suema, who seems to have read Seiichis work perhaps more in depth than Nagi.

Suema was being targeted by Snake Eyes, but i dont know if this is linked to her friendship with Nagi. Personally i dont see Suema as evolved, and i remember Morita/Snake eyes saying that the serial killings of five years ago were to stop the change? Something like that, its been a few months now since ive seen it, but the killings were something i had a few questions on.

I think it's pretty clear that Seiichi had found out specificaly about Towa, and that's why they went so far as to kill him.

As for Nagi, she knows her father's work inside out. It's her core inspiration.
