I want it sooo badly, but I'm wondering what it's like. And yes, it is the original 1987 version, not the 2001 crap...

The original 3 part AD Police 2027 OAV.., is a lot darker in terms of looks, & storyline, when compared to the rest of the BGC franchise...,
It focuses on Leon McNicol as a rookie ADP officer, & his veteran partner Geena Malso.., the world in this incarnation of the BGC universe is harsher than the rest of the franchise.., & the main question brought up in the series is the idea of humanity in a high tech world where cyber implants are common place (or indeed a 'necessity' to break the glass ceilings in giant male-dominated corporations).., where does humanity begin & end...?
The series was a little too short for any of the characters or the plot to develop fully, but it's an okay show all the same...,
I bought the New AD Police Files on DVD not so long ago..., I've yet to watch it, so I can't compare the two series...,

In the first episode, is it true that Leon's right hand was ripped off by that (I think she was a BU-33XSexaroid) thing.

I can't rightly remember, as it's been years since I last saw this series..., but Leon's partner has a cybernetic right arm.., perhaps that's what you're thinking of...? :confused:

Dark meaning it's violent, scary, and crap or dark meaning it takes place always at night?

Î like the AD Police OAV beacuse in admidst the violence, swearing and fanservice, there are moments for pure thoughtfulness (as indicated above).
Sadly the new ADP does not have the same ideology (or so I've been told)
