Only 3 eps?

Is there no continuation for the series (3 eps)? That ending suggests that something else must be coming. Does it?

after watching the OAV, i was like 'that's...it?' But it's not! Well... as far as anime, it is. The manga is a continuation and a bajillion times better, and kaori yuki, the mangaka, is a goddess. Thought the OAV was complicated? The manga is even more. It's already been released in Europe (well...at least France), so I'm hoping that eventually it will turn up on US shores eventually. But with all the sexuality and controversy, i don't know if it ever will. Anyways, i highly recommend the manga. :D

I am definitely putting the answer to this question in my sig once sigs are back. This question has been asked and answered at least seven times in this forum. It's getting to be the only discussion that actually happens here.

Anyway, the manga continues the story (obviously). Put it to ya this way: the anime ends at the beginning of volume four, and doesn't include about half of the stuff that happened up to that point in the manga. The manga is 20 volumes long. There's a continuation all right, and there's never a slow spot. Angel Sanctuary is quite simply the most involved manga I have ever read.

Well I'd just like to say to anyone who has the DVD, play the little quiz game. I almost missed it and that can somewhat clear up what was going on in the very end of the anime. ;)

does anyone know why there are only three epis? did it bomb in japan as an anime or somethin? just curious :)

A few reasons:

For one, it's an OVA, and those are rarely over six episodes. Three is probably about average.

For another, it was made as something of a gift to the manga fans/advertisement for the manga. It didn't need to be any longer to serve that purpose.

Finally, Yuki Kaori (the mangaka) has stated that she couldn't see Angel Sanctuary being made into a full-length TV series due to "controversial" content.

There are Series that have Way more than 13 eps in the OVA. I think the ANimated series must have done really bad in japan and got cancelled.

Well true but to leaving the audience hanging it had to have been cancelled. THis has happened to alot of shows before and im sure it will happen agian.
