I heard that the series were still under development, and its end supposes some continuation. Does anyone have some officials on this?

From what I have heard, there are no plans to continue the series.

It seems wierd that Hellsing would get cut at only 13 episodes. From what I understand, the animation goes downhill as the series goes on. Mind you, I am just restating what I have heard; I have yet to buy the series. If I'm not mistaken, it was animated by a very high profile company. So why would it happen?

It's true. In the middle of the anime the animation style changes drastically. (as if a whole different artist did the work)

That happened with Orphen, too, near the middle. However, as the series progressed, the animation got better again. What happened was that the animators went from hand drawing everything to using computers. Maybe that happened with Hellsing too. It's only 2 DVDs long?? That sucks :(

The animation quality wavered over a few episodes, but it wasn't anything drastic.

The story really did pick up however. They CAN'T just leave it! They left so much open-ended! I hope there are plans for a second series...

How was Hellsing received in Japan?

There were/are plans or rumours for a second series, but I haven't heard anything about that for a while.

But it wasn't cut short or anything. It was intended to be 13 from the beginning, I think.

From what I have heard, Hellsing was pretty well received in Japan. It was shown on late-night TV (for obvious reasons) and was somewhat successful.

I don't care about how good it looks, the story is cool. I enjoy it, can't wait till the one and only store in my area gets more of it

I heard that there are no current plants to do more Hellsing, because the animation studio is actually WAITING for the manga to finish.

Amazing.

True? I'm not sure.

That's a good point and I'd believe it. Maybe its better if the manga finishes first and then the anime can use that material instead of filler stuff.

One wonders how they are going to continue it since the last 3 episodes were vastly different than the hellsing manga. Though it's a good descion to wait for the manga to be concluded.

Actually, I heard that story from an offitial at the Pioneer panel at AXNY this summer. I can't wait for more Hellsing anime, so I hope the manga gets done. Plus I hope they up the animation a bit and also stick a bit more to the manga because I heard the manga was better. I ve actually seen a little and would love for a company to being over the manga itself.

It's actually 4 DVDs long. As for Orphen, the animation style didn't change drastically. The drastic change was Revenge's animation.

If you look closely you can see the vast drop off in the qualirt of animation from episode 1 to the rest of the series in some scenes.

Gonzo are known to pump lot's of their budget into the first ep , look at other Gonzo titles like Vandread and Real Bout High School to see good first eps and then the drop off.
