How did the Lance of Longinus get out of Orbit to help bring down Eva Unit-02???

The angel was out of the EVA's attack range and EVA 02 went with a high powered rifle and missed then the angel started analysing her mind. EVA 00 tried another high powered rifle and the targets AT field was too strong so Gendou ordered EVA 00 to get the lance and Rei threw it and it went threw the AT field and the target and it went into an illunar orbit and could not be retrieved.
He means how did it come down, not how it went up....

its in the movie which means i haven't seen it but hell wat goes up must come down eh?
I heard that Chairman Keel :) had copies of the lance so one of those might have been used. It seemed weaker than the orignal, since it took a while to break through Unit-02 AT field rather than ripping right through it.
The orignal lance went into a lunar orbit and after a while fell to its surface I think.
Yeah but Unit-01 calls it back somehow doesn't it? *damn gotta go check that now*

Nah, when Shinji and Unit 01 underwent Human complementation, or whatever in EOE, I guess because it needed to have the original Lance, it just called it out of the heavens. Besides, it got stuck in the moon, so it wouldn't have just fallen down to earth.
It is rather simple.
If the lance was meant to be used in Lilith, then 01 being a clone would have been able to call it back.
ANd it does seem that this is the case, Shinji is not in control of 01 at any point during EoE, he is mearly sitting in the seat (another reference to the begining)

actually it was not the original lance w/c brought down unit02 but a copy of the lance used by the eva series. as for the original lance, and how it came down from orbit, i really dont know, all i know is that, when HCP starts, the original lance just comes flying down from the moon
What does the real Lance look like? Where can I find a picture of it?

Asukas Unit-02 was brought by one of several copies of the Lance of Longinus. The lances were disguised as the weapons that the Eva series were using. As you see when Asuka tried stopping the weapon from hitting her it changed from blade form into the lance which then went through her A.T field. This scene you see in the movies.
Ok...this is wat i know so far....
Rei threw the Lance of Longinus into space to destroy the angel. THe lance obtained a stable orbit and was unable to be retrieved through CONVENTIONAL means...Then in the movie Shinji i think calls it back down somehow...not clear on that coz i haven't seen the movie. THe lances that Eva5-13 use are replicas of the lance of Longinus. THey are not as powerful but effective still.. SO the ones that the Eva5-13 use are just copies while the real Lance stays in space until Shinji calls it...

Shinji doesn't call it back nor does Unit-01, somehow it comes back. The reason for its return is anyones guess.

I disagree.
01 does call it back. simply because you do not see 01's lips move does not mean it was not calling it. I certainly do not mean vocally anyway.
For 3rd impact to occur the origianl Lance was needed. The Lance is as much a part of The Eva's, Angels as it gets.
In fact its existance seems more important than one would origianlly think.

IMO I believe it has something to do with the ritual being performed by SEELE.
all this debatin makes me even more anxious to watch the movie and have a good solid base on which i can comment...
The lance orgianlly was cloned from Lillith and thus contains its cells. It was first used to poke Christ at his crucifiction.... if you think about it laterally, it could also suggest the lance was the thing that brought down Christ... hehehe... it does make sense... but thats just bull.
Unit-01 being composed of Lilliths cells allowed him to will the lance back down to earth, for they are contained of the same matter, just as Kaoru could control Unit-02 because they are composed of the same matter.
The red Earth purfication cermony was used to reserec the Black moon and allow Keel to be the centre being even if he isnt present at the site of 3rd Impact.
The lances of the X2 EVA models were all cloned copies..... which are definetly weaker but sufficent enought to create a man made siphroth.
y'know what? good theory, just one thing though... is this info given in the EoE? - coz, if it is, im gonna go to my classmate's house after i get my sleep and m gonna watch EoE, until i memorize it/fully understand it!
