I bought one of ADV's convienent perfect collections for this series and I have to say that I'm very much impressed. The basic story is this, in the year 2007 something called an include cell will be discovered and allowing humans to become creatures called Generators. However, Generators are monsters that have little regard for human life. So two scientists, Koji and Ryo, are sent from the future to 2007 along with a Generator of their own devising, Gawl (hence the name of the series). While the plots structure of each episode is pretty run of the mill, the overall plot of the series and the characters are great. There are so many subplots and mysteries to the series that you can't do anything but watch to see what's really going.

Any other fans of this series?

Yeah, Generator Gawl was one of those sleeper hits that you don't hear about often. I really liked the show...but never got around to finishing it. Now that the perfect collection is out...I may get my chance.:)
