HI... I just saw a preview for this show and i was just wondering...what is it about? I mean, the animation looks absolutly beautiful, but i just didnt pick up any of the storyline from the ad. I may even love this show with out having seen a single episode!

I'd tell you in a heart beat, but I just bought the Box Set a few days ago and I'm only on Episode 9 right now.

What I can tell you is that, in the beginning, its about an organization called Gowa Industries, created and owned by the renowned Gowa Family (of which the main character is the youngest brother of the family), which has developed a bipedal weapons platform called the TA (Tactical Armor) and is beginning to test this as a military device to be used for the Japanese Self Defense Force.

In reality, there is a dark secret and conspiracy surrounding the history, development, and true purpose of the TA's, and it all has something to do with controlling an ancient power, a strange mystical dance, and the summoning of a great terror upon the world.

During this time, the UN detects a strange weapons test in the middle eastern country of Belgistan, and when they approach the dictator about this, are given only confrontation over the issue. Military action is taken, and as expect, the UN forces wipe out much of Belgistan until they reach the capital. Then, mysteriously the third world country begins wiping out the UN forces. Analysts at Gowa discover that TA's of some sort may be being used by the Belgistians. If true, Gowa wants answers as to how a third world country developed them. The TA's are sent into combat in Belgistan alongside UN forces.

If that seems lengthy, I should note that this only loosly covers the first two discs, and I still purposly left a lot of stuff out so I wouldn't spoil it.

but now that I'm getting further into the series, I must say it is definitely captivating. And I do love that opening theme, Message #9.

Well a box set would be good. I had to buy them all individually! And there are EIGHT of them! Well, it was worth it I guess.
