OK, I've been watching Blue Seed lately, trying to finish the series ASAP (I have a huge backlog of anime DVDs to go through), and I am coming close to the end of the show. Normally I don't complain about the dialogue in anime shows unless it is really bad or really annoying. Some of Momiji's lines fall into the latter category, however, and I just need to get something off my chest.
It seems that half her lines starting with episode 20 are nothing more than different emotional variants of "Kusanagi-san." I swear, she must say that one line at least 50 times in the space of episiodes 20 and 21 alone. Now, I understand that it is typical for anime shows to have emotional scenes in which shouting out a character's name with joy/pain/anguish/sorrow/confusion or something else is perfectly acceptable, but when Momiji ends up calling "Kusanagi-san!" over 5 times in a row, and repeating that action multiple times, the dialogue (well, it's more of a monologue in Momiji's case) gets really annoying really fast.
The least she could do is express how she is feeling by using phrases that actually give some insight into why she is saying them, like for example, saying "Kusanagi-san! I love you and I don't want you to die!" Or maybe "Kusanagi-san! Don't fall off the cliff and impale yourself on the rather sharp rocks at the bottom!" You know, something with meaning to it.
She gives at least 3 different emotional tones to the single phrase, "Kusanagi-san." But they are given for no particular reason since the only thing they are applied to is a single name.
UPDATE: I finished watching the series and I can happily say that the annyoning dialogue was merely an aberration in the series, which is quite good otherwise, and well worth purchasing. The Omake Theater bits were hilarious! The last one had me laughing until my chest hurt!
