Tenchi In Tokyo......Is that Tenchi?

Is it just me, or does Tenchi In tokyo look completley different than Tenchi Universe and Tenchi Muyo? And if you agree, why do you think they changed the animation.

i don't know what the heck is wrong with the animators. i know they're different animators but why did they make tenchi look different??? were they going for an older look? and why do everyone's eyes look so weird? one of the many reasons why i hate TiT.

I have to agree with heerogf Tenchi in Tokyo sucks. The other ones are alot better

Tenchi in Tokyo was the lowest budget show. This means crappy materials. Also i believe that a few artists from Tenchi Muyo and Universe got replaced.

Differnet artist were then used and that made Tenchi and the others look differnet.

i think one of the main reasons i don't like her is because i was so used to the same characters, and i didn't like the change. that and i want ryoko with tenchi.:heh:

Don't know why I don't like it but I don't, where as I love Universe and Tenchi Muyo! (my Ultimate Edition just shipped today, YAY!) Sakuya wasn't a terrible character, she just wasnt as good as the others in my book and it was a pity

I only started watching yesterday, when I saw the first four episodes of Tenchi in Tokyo. (I've never seen any other Tenchi at all, but I have some idea of the basic character relations.) It cracked me up! I've hear people slag off TiT left, right and centre... so I'm hopefully gonna see the original OVA Episode 1 today, because it must be even better! (Episode 4 of TiT wasn't that good, but episode 3's 'chinese whispers' part was great!)
And as for Sakuya... she's ok, but give me Washu anyday (adult form, of course)!

I find the art in Tenchi in Tokyo alot better than the 1st tv series. And as for Sakuya.....well here death made the story more interesting, Heck if a good guy dies the story becomes more interesting!!

if the good guy dies then there is no point to the story anymore... but sakuya is a minor mirror person, it's a shame she broke up Ryoko and Tenchi though... :bawling:

What i meant was if a good guy dies in the end or near the end of the story it becomes more interseting but if the hero dies at the beginning it may or may not ruin the entire story depending on the perspective.

if the good guy dies an honorable death saving the world then thats good... it would suck if tenchi was killed at the begining then all those women would be in different parts of the universe... :bawling:

I guess what annoys me about Tenchi in Tokyo is the simplification of the characters. Others have already said it: eyes, hair, personalities.

It's OK. Perhaps the analogy is food is to McDonalds as Tenchi is to Tenchi in Tokyo.

Ditto. I think they changed artists and also the CG animation was used differently. They had a big contrast in shades and lights in that show. They used more of the shades.
