O.K if you can remember back to episodes 10 - 12 where they were doing experiments with the TA's to make them run for 36 hours. So they injected the pilots with the TA's Mile One Muscle Tissue. Well we all know what it made them do. I made them go crazy. Now let me take you back to this conversation

Yushiro: We can't just abandon the pilot of Sat 4 can we?
Rin: Well, No, Of course we can't. But I don't see why you should have to risk your life to save their pilot
Yushiro: And why do you think I have a choice. That pilot is like me.

Now does this mean that Major Taniguchi was a Kai at that point? But he just couldn't control himself.
Was Major Taniguchi in control of himself or was it all just instinct based?
And does this also mean that the TA's are made from the Kugai?

The TAs are Kugai, whether a variation of the original or only partially Kugai, nevertheless they are for the most part formed from the same, er, substance. TAs are more or less "modern day Kugai". Rather than being armoured in olden day Japanese armour as they were in the past, they now wear modern armour, and carry modern weapons.

Now to the matter of the pilot. The test pilots, through drugs, are being artificially made into Kais. It is through a man-made technique, and so does not work properly, the pilots go insane, adverse side affects and such. Yushiro is a natural Kai, but they are nevertheless both Kai. Also, they are "test subjects" just like Yushiro is reffered to by the rest of his family, thus there is a certain affinity Yushiro feels towards the pilot/s.

This could also be realted to how most people in the millitary think.

Fighter pilots Vs Bomber pilots... Etc..

I think Yushiro means that Taniguchi was simply being used as a tool, as a "means to an end", without regard to the fact that he's a human being, like Gowa were using Yushiro himself.

Yes, I assumed it was just that he was being used as a tool, and being hurt becsuse of it. Did the injection really make them into Kais? I would think it wouldn't be that easy... I think the drugs merely forced them to keep going, gave them stamina beyond anything human, and drove them to insanity.

As for the TA, it is based on Mile One, a byproduct of the Kugai. SYMBOL refers to them as Fakes, because they are merely an attempt at creating a Kugai.

From what i understand, and beware that i havent seen the series in atleast a year. Is that all the pilots are injected with a form of stimulent just getting into the craft, i distinctly remember this. This is one of the reasons why you cant stay in the Fakes for longer than a certain period of time, your mind starts breaking down, cant handle the chemicals. That one scene your talking about is when they were using NEW chemicals.

Yes, but also remember that at the end of the episode where they finally stop the guy, and then they have close up of his face, listen to what he says.

He is in a kind of trance and saying something along the lines of "Denied. Denied from reaching the Threshold" and all this weird poetic stuff relating to Kais and what not, that you normally would not expect of just an ordinary TA pilot. I quite liked that part, it was pretty eerie.

Like Yushiro, he is being used by Gowa. However, the chemicals that they added, as confirmed by that former Symbol scientist who now works for Gowa, was based from a certain chemical thing that was produced by Yushiro when piloting a TA, or something like that. They then injected this into the pilot as a way of trying not only creating state of the art TA pilots, but also as part of Kazukiyo's plans to find a way of summoning Gasara.
