Why do the JSSDF call the TA's Focus's???

Eg. Focus 1's heart rate is rising.

Now I was wondering why they are called by the name of Focus. Why not TA's or Unit's or something like that. It's just that I can't think of any reason why they are called Focus's

Hmm, not sure really.

Seems like a military codename. Could be metaphorical though. Well the word "Focus" could refer to how the TAs, being Kugais, "focus" the "power/energy" of a kai.

They're not actually talking about the TA's themselves, remember. A TA doesn't have a heartrate. 'Focus' refers to the pilot of the TA, each of whom has a different number assigned to them. 'Focus' is just a code word.

Yes, I agree with that, but remember that everything in a program/movie is not random (well, most of the time). There must be a reason why the director chose "focus" as the codename, as that word is far too meaningful in the context of Gasaraki to just have been chosen lightly.
