*points to his "newness"* I am new to the community.. but not new to the anime genre. Alas.. there are portions of the anime community that I do not know of.. and Boogiepop Phantom is one of them. Would anyone care to give me the short version on what the series is about.. I've looked into buying it but I would like to hear what others think of it. :)

It is about change and memories; or so I think. I suggest you just read the offical description you'll find on the back of the DVDs/VHSs, it's probably just as good as something we could come up with here.
Anyway. In my opinion Boogiepop Phantom is one of the best animes out here; I can understand if not everyone likes it though, serious as it is.

I believe it depends on your personality to what perspective you view this series. Me and all of my friends have our own definition of each episode and what the series creator was trying to tell the audience about Life, memories, and change.
But I must caution that you must..... MUST pay complete and total attention to every detail, every flashback, everything....... even though the episodes have very little in common other than the Boogiepop Phantom herself, you will have a better understanding of what is happening. And I will warn you that some of the episodes are quite disturbing, the 2nd and 3rd episode's are a good example.
Boogiepop Phantom is, in my mind, an impecciable series and I sincerly hope that you enjoy , and "get" it.
