Can someone pleeze explain me what is Tenchi Muyo????

I've seen a lot of this Tenchi Muyo in the web... but I've never seen it in TV or in OVA's. I would like someone to explain me what is it... who are the characters... and what is it about... plus any other thing you remember...

Hm. Tenchi Muyo is about a guy named Tenchi who lives on Earth. His bloodlines are truly from another planet though but he doesn't know it. So, one day, he meets several girls. Then, as time goes on, he meets more girls. And most of these girls are totally obsessed with him. At the end, there is more conflict that deals with an opposing force.

tenchi muyo means no need for tenchi
the main charater are:
tenchi masaki-you'll recognize him, he's the guy with 6 girls all over him
ryoko-the tall girl with light blue hair
ayeka-the girl with purple hair
sasami-the cute little girl with two kawaii ponytails
whasu-the redheaded scientist
mihoshi-the really dumb blond girl (no offense to anybody)
kyone-mihoshi partner
and there is also tenchi dad and grandfather

The tenchi title carries three different series:
1. Tenchi Muyo (OVA)
2. Tenchi Universe (I think this is the No Need For Tenchi series)
3. Tenchi in Tokyo
All three have Tenchi as main character but have slight differences in the story of each of them.

mmyes. If u DO get Tenchi, get Tenchi Muyo, cos Tenchi Tokyo not so good and I aint seen tenchi universe..

on second thought, get tenchi in tokyo, I almost guarantee you'll for in love with Sakuya *cries with the heartache of it all*

In each his powers are slightly different, and I'd hate to tell u what they are cos in some cases it's a spoiler. keep in mind that if u like tenchi, that when u see the next series or whatever, that they aint sequels, if the characters voices names, pictures and voices changed, you'd barely know they were all tenchi at all....

Tenchi In Tokyo is...okay. I didn't really like it. Mainly because of the change in animation and... (sorry, Ken) Sakuya.

Tenchi in Tokyo wasn't....awful. It is the worst of the three in my opinion, but, I still liked it okay.

i liked tenchi in universe better than tenchi muyo coz tenchi muyo was kinda hanging... the stories doesnt have an ending. as for tenchi in tokyo, the drawings are differenet and i dont like it that much.... it wasnt that good compared to the other two. :B:
