Well the unforunate side effect of not having a wide variety of anime rentals nor any anime clubs in your area does come into play here… Anime series I want to see… But don't have the budget to buy… (Also what am I gonna do if I don't like it?) Their was an article in Animerica this month, but the postal service is so damn slow, I havn't seen it yet… So I would like to know what this is about? Seems like a mecha series, but with more seriousness to it...

So I was wondering what the main storyline is and your rating in the following catagories… A (1 thru 10) scoreing list…

Storyline:
Animation style:
Characters (How life like are their personalities?):
Emotions (How much does it pull you into the story?):
Fan Service:

Thank you! ^^

Yushiro Gowa, youngest son of the powerful Gowa family is one of several pilots of the newest and most advanced mililtary machines available, the Tactical Armours (mecha, of a more realistic kind). Yet soon we discover that Yushiro's abilities at piloting TAs are beyond that of any normal person. And then, at a mysterious stage of stone, the Gowa family conducts a disturbing experiment, one like no other, with Yushiro as its subject.

Seemingly unrelated, war breaks out in the Middle East. The world believes some new and strange kind of weapon was being tested there, and the UN invades the country of Belgistan to inspect it.

Questions begin to rise as Yushiro as he is sent into Belgistan along with his TA team. What was the disturbing experiment trying to achive? Why is he reffered to be his own family as "the test subject"? What is the relation between the experiment he had done and the mysterious energy reactions in Belgistan? What is the enigmatic Symbol corporation? Why are they so powerful, and what are they trying to achieve? What are Gowa trying to achieve? What and who is Yushiro? And who is the mysterious girl that stopped Yushiro from being able to finish the experiment? And what is the "terror" that she speaks of? The terror that Yushiro was summoning.

Prepare for an epic story of political intrigue, military mecha action, serious drama, mystery and conspiracy, mythology, science-fiction, philosophy, romance, that can only be described in one word:

Gasaraki.

Storyline: 10 (It's bloody brilliant and no mistake)
Animation style: 9 (very cool and feels quite realistic)
Characters: 7 (Intriguing. Some scarily so)
Emotions: 7 (It's not terribly emotional, because it has a very cold, serious feel about it, but I was very much pulled into the story)
Fan service: 1 (However, it has no need of fan service as it would detriment the series)

I highly recommend this series, as long as you can bare the seriousness of it. Personally I really like serious stuff so it suited me fine. Then again I also like comedy, and mix of serious and comedy. However Gasaraki does not need much comedy, as it would take away from the series rather than add to it.

But the story is bloody excellent, and there are these cool Kugai things, which are kind of like big daemonic samurai.

They are REALLY cool.
