View Full Version : Angel Intentions
Now, I haven't seen D:R or EoE yet (dammit), so I'm still a little unsure. Why exactly did the angels (specifically Adam) visit humanity in the first place? Was it to push us to the next evolutionary level, or something else entirely?
Any thoughts?
I think Adam has been there since the almost the beginning since he/she/it was the first human being created.
This post from an archived thread from Cptn Jake explains the angel's intensions pretty well.
"6) Well you have to believe in the good and bad impacts to get this series. Why didn't the Angels all attack at once in full force to overwhelm Nerv? Because they are there to test humanities perseverence and whether or not they are worthy to reach the final stage in human evolution. If an Angel comes into contact with Adam humanity becomes iradicated in the bad third impact where we would all simply cease to exist. The good third impact is much better but also much harder. You see the good third impact merges all of humanity into one cosmic being where they can be eternally happy, basically this means you can get into heaven regardless of your actions. In order to get the good impact either an Angel must come into contact with Lilith.(which is why Seele tried to trick Kaworu into touching Lilith) Or you need to defeat all 17 Angels, have the lance of longuinus(sorry about the spelling agin) and a man made Angel which is either Rei or and Evangelion. Then put these things together and you got yourselves one helluva good impact."
I agree with everthing up till your last sentace or two.
Lilith is still very imporant to 3rd impact regardless of who it is for.
Keel says that they can do without the origianl Lance, and are surpirised to see it return.
The only difference i can see is whether you have a human or an angel in the centre, that seems to be the deciding factor.
ATh
The way I see it it's just who's in control of the central being. how it works for SEELE i'm not quite sure, but i see a difference between the possible impacts of Gendou (being in control of Rei) and Shinji (when Rei 'hands the future' to him)
