soul hunter just primiered on the I-Channel

i thought the dubbing was average but at least it didn't hurt my ears. i think the first episode was kind of weak. i will need to see a few more episodes to decide if i will continue watching. for those who just saw it on the I-Channel or those who have seen the series before, what do you think about this series?

i caught it, then turned it off after 2 minutes. ADV, for some odd reason, re-wrote a character for the dub and tried to make him funnier. there's also other re-writes for the dub, but seeing that i boyvotted the dvd's :mad:

Why boycott the DVD's, they give you the subtitled version of the show on the DVD as well, don't they. At least every other anime seems to offer both language tracks.

Yep. Just another brilliant name change because Japanese is much too challenging for the average anime fan . At least ADV's keeping Saiyuki's title, sort of.

Y'know, Fatal, I'm almost with you on boycotting Foster, but they -do- call on him to work on stuff I enjoy. *sigh* Oh, the perils of being an anime fan.

anyhow, whats the general overall rating of Soul Hunter (aka Houshin Engi)? as i said before, i have volume 1 the rest of the dvd's are on sale, so im thinking about getting those (even if there from Steven foster)

el hazard is also dubbed and it is pretty damn good. soul hunter dub is not great but acceptable for me.

there was quite a few number of posts yet no one really talked about the series. does that mean the show is not really that good?

lets get something straight here. im not watching the show becuase its dubbed NOT BECUASE OF THE VOICES, but becuase of the script re-writed Steven Foster did to it. if you know me, you'll know that im a dub fan. and funny you should mention the EH dub, as EH is one of my favorite all time series, and one of my favorite dubs of all time.

so you see, my only gripe is with the Soul Hunter dub. actually, make that ALL of Steven Foster's dubs.

mondays - soul hunter at 8pm Pacific Standard Time

tuesdays - fushigi yugi at 8pm PST

wednesays - el hazard at 8pm PST

fridays - slayers NEXT at 8pm PST

slayers NEXT at 8pm PST (repeat from fridays episode)

What is so bad about the Dubbed version?!!? People are just saying this so they can think they are "cool". I love Soul Hunter and I think the dubbed is more funny. I watched a few episodes subbed and it bored me!! It wasn't funny at all. So what if they dont dub it too well? I still get more laughs out of it. And usually when you "read" something funny it doesn't seem that funny as when you "hear" it. Dubbed is better!!!!!
