What happened with Season 2?

The Big O Season 2 was to appear late last year on Adult Swim and in Japan as well? I haven't heard any news about it since the announcement had been made? Has production stopped or what? :confused:

I'm a Big O newbie.

(I didn't like the mecha design but i was interested with the plot and so i decided to buy 4 volumes).

There's an interview with producer Chieo Ohashi on the January issue of Newtype US Mag. Most of it is stuff we already know: Bandai and Cartoon Network are both financing the second season;supposed to be 26 eps but got cut to 13 for some reason ;same staff that worked on the first 13 eps are working on the second 13 eps, & while some consideration was given to the American market, no big changes were made.
