I was looking at the cover of Tenchi Forever and the animation looks different-kind of like a TiT and muyo hibrid. I was scared so I bought tenchi in love. The animation in Tenchi in Tokyo almost makes a poor soul retch-is that what the animation in Forever looks like?

Though, I will admit that when I saw the ad, I accidently thought that Ryoko was a man (in other words, a completely different character), but, that was before I saw the movie. :heh:

I bought Tenchi Forever yesterday, and I thought it was good, even if it did take the series in a slightly less humorous, action-oriented direction. It was intresting the whole way through and Ryoko got Tenchi :). Thanks for your advice, I'm glad I bought it.

Tenchi Forever is in my opinion the best of the Tenchi Movies.

For three reasons:

Music is Excellent(i mean GREAT!!)
Backgrounds are drawn great
Great Story and Ending

:)

Ryoko my look a bit different but thats about it. I think the characters look more humanlike in this movie.

Their eyes were different too, but it didn't irritate me like Tenchi in Tokyo did. I think the different character designs worked this time.

I have to agree with Kiyone on this one. The music made the movie more dramatic and yes it was awesome. It made the feelings Haruna had more clear and more emphasized. The backgrounds were inpecapable. From the city to the forest, it was all like a work of art. The story was one of the best stories for an anime movie I've seen in a long time. I posted in the "I'm in love" thread about how I felt so strongly about Haruna. I felt what she was feeling. The film makers really touched me when it came to the pain Haruna felt. The movie also seemed to have a hidden meaning. It seemed that the film makers were trying to prove how strong love is and how we don't fully understand love until we've been affected byt it. I love this anime. It made me a Tenchi fanatic, and made me realize the potency of the feelings some individuals may have.

Peace!:D

what are the differences between the two versions. I bought it on VHS last week and its great.

To be honest, I wasn't that thrilled with the movie. I thought the storyline seemed a bit too much like the plots of TMiL and TiT rammed together. The music was good in some parts, but the hard-beat stuff when Ryoko was walking through the streets seemed a bit out of place. MNE remains my favorite.

Oh, and I swear the TF artists took Ryoko's cup size down a couple notches. :)

Yeah, I have to agree with Katfum about the series. I mean, TF was good, but I liked the other two movies more.

Can't really speak to Ryoko's cup size reduction, wasn't watching that closely.
