There's Crest of the Stars (Sekai no Moushou) which has 13 episodes. Then there's Battleflag of the Stars (Sekai no Senki) with 13 eps. After that, there's Battleflag of the Stars II with 10 eps. Finally there's a Crest of the Stars movie.

what are the second, and third series about ?

The first series was the introduction to how the war got started.

The second series takes place 3 years later. The triple alliance managed to fight with the Abh all the way to the imperial capital, and both sides suffered major casualties. A temporary cease-fire was announced, and now, after 3 years, both sides have rebuilt their forces and prepared to start up again.

Lafiel is captain of an Assault Ship, the Basroil, and Jinto is her communications officer.

The series 13 episodes cover Operation Phantom Flame. The abh Territory, in the last 3 years, was split in two by the United Mankind, who control a vast amount of space in the middle. Operation Phantom Flame is the operation to reclaim those territories and reach their allies on the other side.

This all concerns an expected major battle over a Plane Space gate situated in the Aptic system, which is crucial to control over that entire area of the galaxy.
