Just wondering...
Like many "harem"-type anime, Fruits Basket has a wide range of Bishies to choose from. But unlike those, Fruits Basket appeals more to girls (and some guys) in the choosing:

(1) Lovely Yuki
(2) Firey Kyo
(3) Hilarious Shigure
(4) MPD Haru
(5) Ecchi + Yaoi + Cool Ayame
(6) Hatori
(6) Too-damn-clever Hiro
(7) Cross-dressing Momiji

I prefer the "Mabodachi Trio" but i love all the Furuba characters.

As to pick my favourite character, that would be Pochie-san. Sohma Shigure RULES!!!

My reasons after seeing the series...
- He's a writer (with the novelist instincts).
- A complete air-head (and likes to tease the editor)
- we all know he's a pervert, yet he still acts so calmly (the que sera sera attitude).
- You'll always find him wearing a "kimono" because he believes it's the proper attire for a novelist. (But he even looks better in a suit - looks very charming in that formal attire). *glomps*
- Ryoutarou Okiayou ranks 4th in my favourite seiyuu list.

I too pick the Mabudachi trio. The others are too young for me. I might make an exception for Haru though, heh.

You mean I actually have to pick one? There's no way. Ack! How's a girl to choose when there are so many cute guys all in one anime. Hmmm. I think for the time being Yuki, Kyou, and Shigure are tied for first place. I like all the other guys pretty much the same.

Damn this is hard!!!! Well, Kyou (awww) so cute. But then Shigure has that older, humourous charm. And Hatori, tragic love! *sigh*

Oh and Momiji, but only if he looked like 10 years older....Remember that scene where the Student Council President imagined him in a boy's uniform? *swoons*

Akito's hot and villainery's sexy and all, but he's too much of an manipulative, bitter ass for me to like him.

And what about Shishou? More appearances from him and *could* add him to my list...

Let's see.

Kyou is cute in a smoking hot sort of way. At first I liked Kyou the best, but as I watch more Yuki's started to grow on me a lot. If I was in Tohru's place, I really don't think I'd be able to choose between them.

And then there's Ayame. Watching the first episode when he was introduced, I really haven't laughed that hard in awhile. What a great character, although he's so totally clueless.

I like Kyou and Yuki because they're interesting and cute, and Ayame cracks me up, especially with Shigure and Hatori on the scene too.

In the anime, I'll go for Kyou since of all the characters, he was the one who was a bit more developed even though it wasn't obvious. Just look at all the hints and you'll see. I just love those little subtleties!

overall, I LOVE Shigure. His whole attitude is something I've never seen before. At first you'd think he's a stereotype of the laid back, perverted, funny guy but sooner or later you find out that he's a wolf. Rowr. There's so much to love about Shigure. ;_;

Shigure. Definitely. I have never seen another anime character who makes a yukata look sexier. :D

One gets the feeling that there is more to Shigure than meets the eye. I love his seemingly laidback attitude but his sense of humor borders on sadism (gawd I love the little pranks he plays on his editor). :heh: Yet, Shigure isn't all mischief and pervertedness: he's obviously a very sensitive person who understands people - cursed by the zodiac animal spirits or otherwise - very well. Which accounts for his ability to manipulate everyone around him. Except Hatori, of course. *LOL*

Wah! So many Shigure lovers! *sniffle* I feel so at home! :p As you can tell by my avatar, Shigure-sama is the best character ever. He's so cute, funny, smart, sexy(roar) and a novelist to boot! Ahhh, ii inu!

I love his English VA, John Burgmeier, too. I'm really attached to FUNi, so I watch it in english most of the time. Ahhh, good times.

Oh! Kind of off topic, but have you guys heard the bloopers for the english VA's? If you haven't try this...(It only works on PS2 and Xbox)

Click on the Extra menu, highlight Character profile. Don't click it! Use the...er...not the joystick, but the other directional buttons to put the codes in. For the first DVD the code is: Left, Down, Right, UP, Left.
For the third DVD it's:Left, Up, Right, Down , Left. Then click on Character profiles and let'er fly!

I hope the way I explained it made sense. >_<
