Ghost in the Shell 2: Man/Machine Interface's US translation by Dark Horse Comics and Studio Proteus? It was supposed to be released in October and well I haven't seen a copy.
Any news or ideas people?

You haven't seen it either....? I thought it was just my local comic shop being crap..., :heh:

The Dark Horse website has a release date of 1/29/03 for issue #1. Toren Smith of Studio Proteus (they do the artwork and translation, DH just publishes) promises they'll speed up the release schedule to make up for lost time. Of course, they said the same thing after OMG was delayed for 4 or 5 months. :rolleyes2

Out of curiousity when you say artwork do you mean the flipping of it?
Personally I would take a well done Dark Horse translation over any fan translation not to mention that when Dark Horse releases a manga they are usually very, very good (with the exception of anything by Kenichi Sonoda *dodges EVA fiend's cricket bat of justice*)

Finally..., my local comic shop has managed to get the first issue of the GiTS2 manga in..., & I have to say that the first issue is fairly incomprehensible..., the artwork is fantastic.., Shirow has gone into CG in a big way (there's a crap load of fan service too.., :heh: ).., but I have a feeling it's gonna be one of those manga stories that need to be read all the way through several times before the plot is really understood..,
Can't wait for the next issue..., :D
