Tureno . . .

Has anyone noticed in First Stage they spell Trueno wrong on the 86, they mix up the U and the R to spell Tureno.

Now is that a mistake or is that just another way of spelling Trueno?

You can see it in the battle between Takumi and Kenta.

yeah i've noticed it,

They probably spelt it that way because thats how they pronounce Trueno

They fix it up in the later stages, maybe they finally noticed then that they spelt it wrong.

It's a good thing they refer to it as simply the "86." I mean how can you screw that up. :heh:

That's what I thought so the series takes place in the 1980's then...? If so, any idea why they picked the 80's. Shenmue (a "F.R.E.E." videogame) was based then too.

No I dont think back in the 80s they had Evo IVs and such.

Initial D is set late 90's id say. About '96 because I recall Keisuke say something along the lines of "I cant believe I cant outrun a 10 year old car" something like that

If i remember correctly, The Trueno and Levin's were first made in 1983. They call the car the 86 because its short for its model number "AE86"

AE86 is the chassis code. model was last made in 1985 I believe. last rwd corrola(sp?) made. Initial D is set in either 1995 or 1996 cause that is when the Evo4 made its debut. Evo's were first made in either 90 or 91 for some more useless info:D
