Is it only me or was the ending.....a bit lackluster? So much was left out that it was ridiculous, not to mention the fact the the animation took a nose dive. After watching the 3rd DVD, I was really hoping for things to take turn for the better but I was wrong. Was any disappointed with the way things turned out because I know I am. I'm too lazy to get the manga right now.

I hated the ending as well, the last couple eps really degraded the sereis as a whole, i havn't started the manga but i heard that the Freak chips were made by Nazis and there is the whole plot about Nazi's trying to take over the world.

Theres a pretty damn insane... yet cool story twist right there.

**Obvious spoilers in an 'ending' thread**
Yeah, the last DVD was sorta bland in my opinion. Did anyone else hear how Alucard's face was supposed to resemble Vlad the Impalers when the lightning struck in the background in the last episode? I thought that was slightly interesting, especially seeing as how Incognito was impaled at the end of the last episode.
Oh well, the animation ceratinly did take a nose dive. Perhaps I will pick up the manga someday.

Yeah, Alucard = Dracula.
Anyway, they seemed to be aiming for a second season, with all those loose ends.

I really don't like the manga version of hellsing the art seems to be done by an amateur.
I liked the ending, nothing wrong with ending in a big bang.
The problem is that 13 episodes is way to short to tell this story right.
Our priest friend didn't even get a final showdown.

YEAH! More Andersong!(err...Anderson?)
I remember seeing a shortish fan-made ending that was probably done with Paint or some free program like that.
Incognito: Bwahahahaa, soon Arkard will come and I shall smack him!
*Anderson works in and bible pages fly all around*
Anderson: Hah, your evil triks won't work now!
Incognito: Oh heck, this fux0rs.
*splat splat*
*Arkard walks in*
Arkard: Now then Incog... Anderson, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!
You should be able to tell how funny it was from my poor explanation. :)

I know even though Anderson has no Arms you kinda fell like it was left up in the air. Personality I didn't really notice the Animation, but there was so many holes left up in the air. The Anderson/Arkard feud. Who was Incognito's master? And Arkard's past. Was he born a Vampire or was he made into one like Victoria was.
Just too many thing left up in the air.
And who is Vlad the Impaler?

Vald was the first Vamp that was 'offically' reconised... He became 'the impaler after impaling some 2000 people on sharp poles...
Gah... That about all i can remember now...
Hehe.. THe odd thing is i know someone whos a direct decendent of Vald...

vlad tepes was his real name, he was called 'the impaler' for obvious reasons. go here (http://www.donlinke.com/drakula/vlad.htm#Name) for more info...
as for the original topic, i quite liked the ending, tied things up fairly well but left it open for a future series...

Well, there is a possibility for new episodes since the manga is still going on. Here's hoping.
As for this ending, seeing it again, I liked it. It lefts some questions, but I rather liked that. It left room for more of the series.

What book in the manga up to?
I liked the ending as well, actually. I like the characters too much to have really enjoyed a true, complete, "everything's explained, it's all over" ending, and leaving it open-ended allows more anime to be made, which is a good thing IMO. I'd like to see more of it.

Is this why Incognito died the way he did???

lol, thats sucks. He was left on display too. lmao!
FayeFayeV, are you making this up or are you a member of the production team? Making theories and telling people they're 100- true isn't a nice thing to do. :p
They only hinted towards Vlad at the end and judging by the way they blatantly copied a lot of the names from Dracula books (Alucard and Hellsing are characters and I'm pretty sure there was an Alfred there too) t'was probably a hint/riddle, or just a plain joke. They don't mention anything of it in the manga either, so it isn't really "official" anyway.
Well...
It depends how you look at it.
The use of names and the way Inconito died does point towards the riddle side rather than joke..
I dont see them using it as a joke in a series like hellsing.

Hellsing was never intended for 13 episodes. They had a tight budget. The last few months they were busy with Gatekeepers 21 and rumours of Vandread season 3, so I don't know if Hellsing season 2 will ever be made or thought of.
Hellsing rocks but the community for vampire stories are too small.

they will probably make more..but It may not be immediately.
My guess is that they will make a OVA eventually...
BUt im got going to hold my breath for it..

********Potential Spoilers, I don't know*************
Having just finished this series I can safely say the ending was great in my opinion. Although I would have liked to see Alucard fight Anderson again, I think things ended well. If I was creating the story I would have had Arucard turn on Integra and bring an inferno of death upon the world. I had the feeling from time to time that he was The Devil or Dracula. That would have been a sweet twist. I only wish it was 26 instead of 13 eps., but luckly it ended up being a short but sweet series all in all.
I'm sorry but Alucard from Castlevania: SOTN is still the coolest ~vampire around. ;)
Peace. V

Frankly I enjoyed the entire thing, if they made a season two I think that would kinda crumble. I'm hoping they leave it as it is and are done with it. As much as I would like to see more of the Angle of Death and the rest of the gang, an ending that leaves you thinking is the best. :) Though knowing everything may be comforting wheres the fun in that?

Ok I got bored and went back to check the name everyone seems to be refering to as "Alucard," well your idiots. When you look at the credits its spelled "Arucard." Now I donno whoes worst, me for getting bored and going to to look how its spelled  or everyone else whos been going on about how the name "Alucard" is used to much.

:dodgy: No need to insult us.
The reason they refer to it as "Alucard" is because that is "Dracula" spelled backwards, and it's pretty much a given that the creators were trying to make that connection in our minds. There is no "l" sound in the Japanese language, so they use an "r". Arucard = Alucard.
Is this deja vu, or is it just me?

I really thought it was "Arucard" but everyone else was saying "Alucard." :heh: However, I like "Alucard" more in all due respects. "Arucard" isn't as easy to say. :p Thanks for that side comment too dheu.

Oh well... I guess you have to start somewhere...
You read Dracula Yet? It will help in your 'Quest' for Knowledge in this area... Like Why the Hellsing department is called Hellsing for instance... And stuff like that...

In Japan plural usage is also non-existent, so if I catch you refering to your your favorite anime as your, "favorite animes" I'll have to :faint: I'm just going to refer to the guy as Arucard because that's what they do in the dub if I'm not mistaken.

Schrodinger is a "Verevolf"...and unless I'm thinking of the wrong kid, Schrodinger is a guy(Even though he looks ALOT like a girl(maybe it's the pants...or the hair... or the feminine face... Hirano scares me sometimes))I just noticed this while actually reading, not skimming through, Vol. 4
********spoiler?*******
When Alucard/Arucard (whatever) offers to mix his blood with Integras.. Does he want her to be just a vampire or break the bond of master..
