In honor of my long lost 'friend' Mutsumi Honda.. I've decided to finally come around to watch one of animations that she has worked on at Gonzo Studios.. Gate Keepers, I just want to watch this in remembrance of her and how we used to chat on yahoo... talking about coffee.. and her cat... and how it killed random small mammals and brang them in her house and put them on her bed.. oh the memories of such innocent and cute engrish...

Anyways enough of my personal life. I'd like a brief summary about this series and what exactly its about. (Unfortunately, I never found out exactly what she did to help make this series, possibly the animation, coloring, or CG if their is any)

Thank you for your time. *bows*

Oh yeah and she never did introduce me to Mahiro Maeda like she said she would.. Dang! *snaps fingers*

Who's Mahiro Maeda!?

The series details the activities of a secret organization called (Alien Extermination Global Intercept System) which has to stop a race of aliens called 'The Invaders' from taking over the world. The Invaders are led by a team of mystical villains (just wait till you meet these guys) and AEGIS consists of a command HQ team and a group of 'gatekeepers' (bunch of high school students and one older guy), of which Shun Ukiya is the leader. The gatekeepers have the power to summon gate 'powers' in order to combat the enemy.

And if that all sounds a bit serious, don't worry, because it's all tongue-in-cheek and comedy-oriented (it even takes the mick out of Evangelion). So yeah, a bit of romance thrown in there too and plenty of cliches, but somehow it still provides a lot of wholesome light-hearted entertainment (in my opinion).

OPEN THE GATE!!
