one think i didn't really understand is where minaka comes into the picture. i never really understood where she came from before she was the manticore.

anyways this is my first post, i'll prolly be here for a while so get used to me ;) (im from sweden so my english might not be the best)

Minako Urihara was a classmate of Saotome's and became his girlfriend after he was rejected by Nagi. How she became the Manticore is not touched on by the series.

Yurihara Minako was a beautiful, bright young student who was a member of the tea club, a room a lot like an old japanese room with the cushions and the low down table (I think). Anyway, one day when she was there, she was killed by the Manticore, who began to consume her. However Saotome Masami walked in on the scene. The Manticore attacked him, deciding it would be better to assume his form instead, before he informed it that as a loner, any changes in Yurihara's behaviour would be unnoticable, while being a popular person any changes in his behaviour would stand out. He then confessed his love to the Manticore, the two joined forces, and the Manticore took the appearance of Yurihara Minako. All scenes of Yurihara Minako in the anime are actually the Manticore as Yurihara Minako.
