Any of you guys seen the new design of the GBA-SP (Special Project)...? I have to say that it looks very bad ass IMO..., it kinda reminds me of the original Game & Watch handhelds that Nintendo produced decades ago..., & the biggest improvement is that it's screen is now illuminated (about bloody time Nintendo)...,
I dunno if I'm going to buy one, as my GBA works fine with one of those snake light adapters..., but I'd really like a black one, so that I can slap a NERV logo onto it..., :heh:
Any comments boys & girls...?

Well when Nintendo first announced it it pissed me off and I still am a little. Those of us who paid for the original should get some kind of compensation. It always felt like my GBA was incomplete and now it really shows.
Well anyway the SP does look cool and the lighted screen as well as the rechargeable battery will be nice but I don't expect to buy one.
Im looking much more forward to the GBAPlayer. The only time I really play my GBA is at home on the couch anyway. NOw I can enjoy my games on the TV instead of a dim little screen. Yay!

Its supposed to be out around the same time as the SP. You need a GC to use it though. The players supposed to plug into the bottom of it or something.

I agree with you there. They should do something for the people that got the GBA before the SP.
I read about the GBAPlayer. I can't wait for that to come out. I thought it was going to come out sometime in May. But it's good that they pushed up its release.

Compensation...? A free SP upgrade would be nice..., :D But I reckon that's highly unlikely..., :(
As for the GBAPlayer..., hmm..., my mates told me about this a while back..., it sounds like a cool idea..., but I'm not enamoured by the fact that I'd have to buy a GC first..., there aren't any GC games that I want to play...,

I'm pretty sure you don't need a GBA at all. I'm pretty sure you don't because I know there are some Japanese third party companies developing controllers specifically for use with the GBAPlayer.
Also the release date is now May 26. The Magic Box (http://www.the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm) has posted some pictures.

Stop your bitching, we wanted it first, we got it, now those who waited get some better... Usually that's how it happens...
How ungrateful....

I saw an article about the Gameboy Advance SP in the new gamepro. It looks great espically with the LCD. Even though I'm not fan of gameboy since i only have the first origingal one. But i think this one is gonna be a hit.

I found out at a game store where I live is doing a trade in on GBAs for the SP. I don't know about doing this or not. I'm still thinking.

I first saw the Gameboy Advanced SP in a Nintendo Power magazine. It looks way cooler than the old one especially in silver.

Yes.., I know I'm 'bumping' a month old thread.., but I can't be arsed to start another one..., :tongue3:
But anyway..., I've had a crap couple of weeks.., so last weekend I went & did some retail therapy..., & one of the things I bought was a black GameBoy-SP..., I couldn't resist..., it's sweet siren call was lulling me into the shop (that & the fact my mate was working that day so he gave me a discount)..., it is sweeeeet.., the back lit screen is very clear & crisp..., & it no longer looks like a toy..., so I can take it into work, & pretend it's a PDA or something...,
As for my old GBA.., I've still got it..., but it's been relegated to the shelf along with my Neo Geo Pocket Color...,

The screen is too dang small.I rather keep my GBA and not spend a hundred dollars. I rather just spend the 30 or 40 dollars to buy the worm light and the rechargable battery, but hey if you got the extra $100 go for it.
Thats my comment no one say anything about it.

Some freshman at my school has one. Basically other than portability it holds no real purpose. But portability is important for a portable system. lol I have every GB to date except GB color. I may or may not get SP, but probably not and wait for the next gen. GB.
Peace. V

Forgive me. ;)

The GBA's screen and the GBA SP's screen are exactly the same size.
