Barrier fields

I know each Dragon of Heaven can make a barrier field and each one is different. Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the shape of each Dragon's field?I've found each of the following (up to ep. 9)

Sorata: square
Arashi: triangle
Karen: cross
Subaru: five pointed star

I'd also like to know what people think of barrier fields. Personally, I think they're very useful and fitting for the Dragon's of Heaven.

Do the Dragons of Earth have this ability? I mean, obviously they wouldn't use it, what with their goal of destroying humanity and all, but would they have the power to create a barrier field?

Although it would be kind of pointless for them to be able to create something they'd never use.

The Dragons of Earth do not have the ability to create barriers.

Yuzuriha's barrier is a cylinder, and Seiichiro's is an octagon.

They're very useful indeed, until the individual who set it up is injured or killed. Heh.

Thanks a lot, snowcherry. I like the avatar too ^_^. I'm not sure if this could actually happen, but wouldn't it be kind of interesting if multiple DoH created barrier fields simultaneously?

Actually, in volume 18 of the manga, Karen and Seiichiro set up their barriers together (Karen's first, Seiichiro's over hers) for, er, extra protection in case one of them was hurt. The effectiveness was, thankfully, never put to the test, but the implication seems to be that this would work.

The way I understand it is that a barrier is created from the desire to protect something. Since the Dragons of Earth don't have that desire, they can not create a barrier.

Cool. I guess it could work. Of any two to put up barriers together, I would think Sorata/Arashi and Seiichiro/Karen barrier fields would be strongest due to certain qualities. And snowcherry, what else could it have meant? You answered my question perfectly.

I doubted too that the Dragon's of Earth would be able to set up barrier fields. I think it's one of the unique elements of the DoH.
