This question is for those who have finished the series... well, see, I like escaflowne because they don't go too mushy and they give you options on who will be paired up. When Allen was free, he was paired up with Hitomi and Marlene was married off to a cute rich guy... when they broke up, she was paired up back with Allen, and Hitomi with Van. hm... how cuuute!

As for Hitomi and Van, I think Hitomi loves different people throughout the series. She obviously has a thing for Amano at the beginning of the series. And I think when she first meets Allen she is attracted to him because of his resemblance to Amano. Maybe it's more than that but I think Hitomi is just taken in by Allen's charm. But by the end of the series it's clear that Hitomi loves Van.

Van and Hitomi are both 15. And Allen is 21. Makes you wonder, ne?? *i guess it's okay for 21 yr olds to go after 15 yr olds in gaia..!eeewwwww..^_^* I personally think Hitomi never loved Allen nor Amano-sempai; it was pretty obvious it was all a crush. But Hitomi and Van's love for each other was real, if it wasn't how was the zone of absolute fortune stopped?? *waves a Van+Hitomi forever sign*
