The Pillows-
Rock on... the wonderful stylings of one of my two favorite bands of all time cover quite a range of music types... I just recently got ahold of the Black Guitar album, *drool* every song a testament to their talents... I can hardly believe they're so unknown in Japan!

The only Pillows music ive heard is the stuff the play in FLCL, and I must say they do rock. :)

That's how I got introduced to them... I think sometime that night we were hunting down every last track we could find of it. A friend of mine has got near every song they've ever recorded (and a few that were recorded at concerts) collected, oh... how it makes me wish I had money to buy their albums...

The Pillows are great. They're one of the few Japanese bands that I like mainly because they sound suspiciously like many American indie rock bands.

If you like the Pillows, I highly recommend looking into the American band the Pixies who were a huge influence on the band. In fact I've theorized that the song "Kim Deal" is a tribute to the Pixies bassist of the same name though I don't have the translated lyrics to prove this yet.

The Pillows once named their favorite bands... I think Pixies were among them... I may be wrong though. Other bands I'm thinking of offhand for that listing... Oasis... dang, I can't remember, I'll have to get ahold of that list again.
