The new episodes in April...that long...
Hmm, going from Adult Swim to the 6pm time slot in Toonami. It's actually making that move in March though, right? Just that the new episodes won't air until April? I may have to tape it just in case I'm not home by then.

Will they still air YYH on Adult Swim, or will they take it off AS and put it just on Toonami?
And will it be edited a whole lot?
I'm pretty sure it's a move and YYH will no longer be on AS. I think they're making the move on Monday. You could check CN's web site for the schedule and see.

just watched ep. 1 on toonami, as i expected, its different from the Adult Swim version, but its not bad, id say it was good actually. language is the only thing that was changed, they changed damn to darn (which shouldnt matter at all, the emotion lies in the voice acting, not in the word) and they removed one ciggarette. theres also the occasional line changes whic are kinda clever, (like, in the AS version, Yusuke says "Take me to hell or whereever that is" changed to "Take me to oblivion or whereever that is"). thats pretty much it. id expect lighter edits in the new episodes since FUNi stopped making the edited versions and they pretty much have to edit the show specifically for toonami. anyhow, the TV-Y7 version was not bad at all, im kinda looking forward to the new episodes now :)
im still waiting for the new dvd's....

im loving these new eps of Yu Yu! its kinda creepy how Flame of Recca (which ive seen ages ago) horribly ripped off Yu Yu....
anyhow, dying to know how Kuwabara defeated that little kid...(damn ep. preview gave it away!)

...(damn ep. preview gave it away!) Heheh, one of the funniest things I've ever seen in YYH was the preview that followed the cliffhanger ep where they got trapped under the Gate of Betrayal on their way into the Saint Beasts' castle, when supposedly either no one or only one person could escape alive... then comes the preview: "Okay, somehow, some way, we ALL escape the Gate of Betrayal..." :heh:
Gotta love action anime. (well, not really... but that aspect of it is funny :P) You know what's going to happen - the good guy's gonna survive - you just don't know how.
Anyway... I like the new season. Missed the ep with Miyuki though... I wanted to see the ultra-stunned look on Kuwabara's face as he says "she's faking her injuries" or whatever... might've been even funnier than seeing that ep unedited. :D

It was!!!
But since I've finally finished the series in japanese now I can watch it in english and compare the two..since the subtitles where awful they keep calling Yoko Kurama "Evil folk Hiei" so I'm very much looking forward to watching it on Toonami although it would be better on Adult swim since there is some lil border-line Hentai scenes :p
But I just love how yuyu just keeps on getting better and better!!

Good point, that was a kind of funny preview. One or none was supposed to make it out alive and then they go and tell you they all do. :) You're exactly right, we all know the good guy has to survive because if he didn't we wouldn't have much of a show left. So it's kind of funny putting the title character in trouble as a cliff hanger -- you know he/she isn't going to die unless it's perhaps at the very end of the series and most of the time it won't be. The YYH previews haven't been too bad, I don't think. They do sometimes give away information like that, but it's usually stuff you saw coming anyway. I've been enjoying the new season, too. I'm interested in seeing what happens at the end of the Dark Tournament when (presumably) Yusuke's team wins the whole thing in a place full of nasty demons. :)

OMG, kuwabara is such a freaking idiot, had he went to the ring immediatly, he would have won the fight...
anyhow, im liking YYH more and more, its like, experiencing Flame of Recca all over again :)
Yeah, but that's kind of what makes the show fun. Each character has their own little quirks. I loved how Yusuke was talking in his sleep during the other matches of the first round. It was as if he was paying attention to everything all along, but he was still sleeping. It was kind of cool. :) I'm also enjoying this Dark Tournament story line. I'm a little surprised that no one in the show seems to have figured out who the masked fifth fighter on Yusuke's team is. It seemed fairly obvious to me. I could be wrong because they haven't actually revealed who it is yet, but I'm pretty sure I know and it didn't take long to figure out. Kuwabara was on the right track back on the ship ride to the island, but didn't quite put it all together. We've been getting to see some pretty cool stuff from the fighters and I'm looking forward to seeing tomorrow's show down between Yusuke and the Australian-sounding guy from the other team. OK, we know Yusuke can't die otherwise there's not much of a show left, but it will be fun to see how things work out. I'm also wondering what's going to happen to Keiko and Kuwabara's sister up in the stands -- they are the only two humans there, right?, and they're cheering for the human team. I'm a little surprised the demons in the crowd are politely letting them both sit there and watch and haven't taken them out yet. Anyway, this is a pretty fun show. I'm digging it. :)
Edit: OK, I just finished watching today's episode and apparently I was wrong about the masked fighter. Hmm, now I'm really curious to know who it is.

yes the voice doesnt fit the person im thinking but it must be a made up voice or sumthin. and i cant wait to see that guy all dressed black and gothic lookin fight! he seems very cool!
True enough. To avoid spoiling the episodes for people who may not have seen them I won't say any more than I did in the last post. But you're right, it's possible that we're thinking of the right person and he/she is purposely disguising his/her voice. I'm not sure now though, so I'll have to wait and see. The funny thing is I thought that Yusuke at least knew who it was (he did bring the masked fighter with him as the group's fifth person), but from today's episode it appears that even he doesn't know who it is. That's pretty weird if you ask me -- going into this nasty martial arts competition with a fighter you don't even know as a teammate? That's another reason I'm surprised no one in the show seems to know who it is -- who goes into a battle this important with a complete stranger?

I'm pretty sure I know who the masked fighter is - I just don't know how. That's all I'll say. Though I don't think it'd be that big a spoiler to give it away... but others might, so I'll refrain. Maybe in the next dozen eps or so they'll reveal the answer. :3
Hmm... oh, I'm a week or so late, but was teenage Koenma adorable or was he adorable? I wanted to pinch his cheeks~ :kawaii:

gahh I was quite dissapointed at the mask fighers voice...although I got a pretty good idea who the voice does belong...but didn't the preview just wanna make you burst?! I mean they show the mask fighter putting back on the mask talking about a "glimpse behind the mask" ahh I can't wait to watch monday's episode!!

It's not that difficult to guess, really, if you think about it. ^^; I mean, that voice does have the same sort of gravelly quality that a certain other familiar, pint-size, master-psychic character's voice has...
Eh well. Monday looks interesting. I want to slap Kuwabara upside the head already.

watch the masked fighter be COMPLETLY different from who we all think! but i doubt that... everyone knows who it is...

gah everytime I see the masked fighter like a "beautiful young women" I always think she could be more prettier..and the voice doesn't really match but hey I gotta get use to it
Yes, sometimes the previews give away a little too much either in what they actually show or with the title of the next episode. Well, we did get to see the masked fighter and it didn't look like who I originally thought it was. However, given her (yes, the masked fighter is female, the showed and said at least that much) actions, I'm starting to wonder if it really is who I thought and she's disguising both her appearance and voice. Well, I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
BTW, are the Dark Tournament organizers totally biasing the competition against Yusuke's team or what? Eight teams and they don't just pair off in a standard bracket, they give some teams byes and make Yusuke's team fight up to four times to get through to the finals. And not only that, but they go "in order" and once the heroes finish one battle they're forced into the next round's battle without any time to rest. I fully expect them to get to the finals and most probably win it because the good guys almost always win/survive, especially if the series isn't reaching its end yet. But man, they're making this as difficult as possible for Yusuke and friends.

The masked Fighter is Gen Kai, who has the ability to transform into her younger form. Her voice is a clue to that, as you can tell that it is the same voice actress but not sounding old. Her past and connection to Toguro is what makes the Dark Tournament Arc more than just another (Main Enemy of the week) thing like the previous Rando battle and Four Saint Beast thing.
I thought they might have been the same person.
Yup, it turns out I was right from the start, but the masked fighter really did have me fooled for a while there.
*First warning, spoilers will appear after the next paragraph*
I've got a question now. I was watching yesterday's episode that I taped and missed about 5 minutes of the episode due to a damn tornado warning announcement (and no, I don't think we actually got a tornado here). It came at a bad time in the show though and I'm kind of afraid I missed some interesting/important points. In order to explain what part I missed, I'll have to include some spoilers, so if you don't want to know, please stop reading now. I'll leave a bit of space.
*Second warning, spoilers follow*

OK, I hope whoever didn't want to be spoiled got out by now. I can't remember the title of the episode, but it was the one where Kurama had just turned back into his full, original fox form. The previous episode ended just after he had been changed, the one I missed part of started with him in the fox form. The part I missed was just after the fight was ending, the age regression spell from the Idunn box (I think it was) wearing off, and Kurama and the ring announcer both returning to their present ages. This means Kurama went back into human form. Right after he changed back, the tornado warning blanked the screen and I missed what happened. Can someone fill me in? Was there some more talk about Kurama in his demon fox form, powers he had, background info, etc. or anything? I got the feeling that some interesting talk was about to follow. I forget exactly where the show restarted for me, but I think it ran over the commercial break. The weather warning took roughly 5 minutes to run, so if anyone could tell me what happened in the say 5-10 minutes of the show after Kurama turned back to a human, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

THe only powers we see of Yoko Kurama's are the Death Tree he summons to threaten that one guy into telling him the secret of that box. Kurama knows its only a limited time, so he wants to know how to use it so he can reclaim his power should he need it.
But that leader guy, Shishi or whatever his name is, killed the guy before he could spill the beans. Kurama goes back to his normal form and is declared the victor.
Shishi rolls the dice. It comes up his name. For the Yurameshi side, it comes up any fighter.
They then begin to argue. Hiei wants to fight because, well, he wants to fight. Kurama wants to fight because he wants the secret of that item. Kuwabara wants to fight because Shishi insulted him.
They play Rock paper scissors to determine the winner, and Kuwabara wins. He goes to fight Shishi, but he pulls out this item called the Cape of No Return. He pulls Kuwabara into it and he disapears. Shishi says he could be sucked into another dimension or into oblivion, but in reality he just gets teleported to the old arena, where he meets with his sister, botan, keiko, and Yukina.
They all head back to the tournament, and they stumble upon Yusuke. They pick him up and start to carry him to the tournament. Meanwhile, shishi rolled again and it came up for the Masked Fighter. Hiei says he gets to fight because they made a deal that he would fight in the place of anyone who wasn't present, but then Gen Kai shows up and says she will fight. Kurama and Hiei don't believe its her because she feels so weak now that she gave Yusuke her powers.
Toguro announces that he knows who Gen Kai is after Shishi cuts her mask off, and tells the audience about her ability to make herself look young. Shishi unveals his sword of doom or whatever it was called and everyone gets worried.
End of episode.
Although in the next episode Gen Kai so kicked that guys a$$. That was cool.

yea that was awsome. he thought he had it all in the bag... poor sucker
Ah, thanks Robotech Master. About all I really missed then is the dice rolling and arguing among the Yurameshi (sp?) team and Kurama wanting the secret of the box. Not much after all. I just got the impression from where it cut off for the weather warning that something interesting was going to happen. Well, I'm a mite disappointed that it didn't, but I'm glad that I really didn't miss much either.
