Alcyone Fact

Did you know that Alcyone is a tragic figure from Greek mythology? She loses her lover and waits for him by the cliffs leading to the sea and then one day jumps off and becomes some kind of white bird. And the noise from the bird is her voice calling out over the waters for her lover to return to her. I think it is very fitting a name for the MKR to name her that.

I found it in one of those encylopedia dictionaries (i think) and came across it under the type of bird it was. It was a few years back so I don't really remember what kind of bird it was that she turned into.

Yeah, quite a fitting name. She's madly and hopelessly in love with Sagato yet her love would never be returned to her...

I believe she got turned into a bird because one of the gods took pity on her. Not sure which one since it was in a dictionary.

And, you know, she has wings on her ears, at least in the beginning. White ones, too. I can't remember the rest of the seasons right now...

And this entire time I thought it was simply because it fit the entire "car names" motif that was used throughout the series...
